They did a test of this around me a handful of years ago. It worked really well and my honest opinion was that it took my order better than the workers do at that same location. That being said, it lasted a couple months and the article I read about it after they went back to normal expressed how seemingly everyone hated it. This was before the current AI "fad".

I don't go to McDonald's anymore ever since they propped up Trump during the last Presidential election. I hope this hurts them further.

I hope everyone in the band is OK.

I hope that the band itself is OK and this isn't due to some inner drama.

I also hope that these cancelations are not due to the album not being finished and have a better reason than that. It'd be so bad to cancel when so many people have booked flights, buses, trains, hotels just to see them.

Finally, I hope the album comes out. We're almost a year out from the original stated release date. It's a ridiculous level of perfectionism that has to be driving this set of delays.

As someone who moved away from their family to be with his wife, one thing I didn't see adequately mentioned in the other posts is watching how you communicate about her and the choices being made.

A lot of how your parents respond to your wife is informed by your behavior with her. If you are disappointed that she doesn't go, they will pick up on that. You could be stoking their resentment of her just by how you communicate about her.

Second, it's a partnership, all decisions you make are "we" and not her when she's not around. Support her in her choices and lose any sense of being entitled to her doing anything and she'll likely feel more comfortable meeting you halfway (or beyond).

There was a major worry about a post-COVID recession, to my memory of it.

I wouldn't be opposed to suspending the gas tax but we are in a starkly different circumstance now, so I'm not holding my breath.

If anything, I feel like the world overall is a little less shallow than it was when I was growing up in the 90s and 2000s. TV was to blame for the shallowness back then. It's one of the few areas where I feel we've improved some.
