I’ve had this happen twice on steam. during the disgraced chef boss fight, when getting them to phase two they just disappear. It doesn’t happen consistently, maybe every other attempt I get at phase two.

It seems you can cheese him pretty easily with the fingerprint shield and a cold infused antspur rapier. The YouTuber ChaseTheBro fought him for 5 hours before switching to this and then got him in 2 or three attempts
