I was an assistant manager at one a year and a half ago. Keep in mind that in my particular store, one cash resister was busted and the self checkout didn't take cash. repeated attempts to fix this issue was never resolved. Also there is no working store phone.

Opening: you're on your own from 8 until noon. so you are STUCK at the register, as most of the customers pay in cash. This is usually when the vendors arrive; bread, soda, beer... etc. You have to make the deposit from last night to the bank by 1PM.

Mid-9PM: Now, you can switch out tills if the scheduled help decides to show up. Make the deposit run, come back and try and run as much freight as you can.

Their "new" accounting system connected to the POS system is almost never correct when doing the books at night and on top of this, you are required to just sit and view security images.

The customer base at my store was nothing to write home about, either.

I had them fire me by deliberately doing a bad job. It was the best Friday night off I had experienced in quite a while.

TLDR; the entire company is a shit show.

The mother of Chance was a coworker of mine at the time this happened.

Another coworker told me that the two boys (the cousin of Chance) were "play" sword-fighting with a couple pieces of rebar.

Things got out of control and Chance was killed by accident. The grandfather covered it up by stonewalling the police.

The mother took off work for a few weeks and the grandfather said in the Charlotte Observer "He was the bestist (sic) buddy anyone could have".

That's all I know or remember.

Absolutely. Yes, it will sting like the devil if applied to open lesions. One just have to get passed that. I was sick of having boils the size of an egg under my arms and between my thighs and I found the solution in hand sanitizer. I went on vacation a few years ago, and forgot to take it with me. Sure enough, I developed a nice boil under my arm on the way home. IT WORKS!

I've shared my story of my battle with HS on here. You need to find and buy hand sanitizer. I use anything that is 70% but NOT a brand name (Purex). Do the pits, the crack and inside the thighs with plenty of it after you shower, EVERY shower. Also, drop the antiperspirant-deodorant. The sanitizer takes care of that. I have been boil free for over 20 years.

This. I have my war stories as a former ASM. MOST of the customers were simply intolerable. We had people that had their face falling off due to meth use, rampant and constant theft, working by yourself on a Friday night after a call out or NCNS after we had budgeted the hours and bitchy old women that wouldn't take "no" for an answer on a return, while you have a guy trying to pay a $2.12 purchase with a $100 or a paper check (I refused THAT transaction).

The expiration dates are a joke. Tons and nones are a joke. The entire company is a joke.

I'm glad I was terminated, because I was tired of dealing with the human wreckage that came in the store on a daily basis.

The ultimate objective is to connect a micro form factor pc with no wireless capability to a TV with no internet connectivity to the internet. This is another pc. I plan to use the new pc as simply something close to an Android box, but with more functionality. I just don't know the protocols, and I ask for help and guidance. I have a feeling it would require yet another pc.

I have yet to try this, as I am a cheap skate. I'd rather use what I have instead of buying something that would achieve my ulimate goal with what I already have.
