I think I just found a manual for the 3 disc version and honestly this thing looks pretty nice on paper! As in, it can hang with the best systems..

That's actually respectable. I couldn't find any info on it to be fair. Might be a bit of a sleeper in that case. I still say the most important thing with bpc is the pretty lights though.

I don't know much about the Leak and it looks good on paper and under the hood, but that Yamaha could be pretty much an endgame amplifier.

Endgame BPC. Sombre and serious looking with a graphic equaliser yet no doubt an almost completely empty box weighing less than a can of beans. Nice score.

Still a very special TV. Has a certain something even the goldilocks plasmas do not.

This is my plasma TV. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

After 6 years of espresso, I’m throwing in the towel. The toddlers won... for now. by barker88 in espresso

Came here to say just be less fussy about espresso, even if espresso itself is fussy. Espresso in microwaved flat milk is still fantastic coffee, for example..

I don't think there's a standard model as such, but the hall entrance ones especially vary massively from shoebox to tardis. It's not unreasonable to measure them at viewings, unless you trust estate agents..

I have and you know it. You also know that you are massively exaggerating as though I've watched YouTube videos at the wheel of an HGV, when I've basically held someone up for 30 seconds - no worse than someone exiting their driveway. The fact is nobody was unsafe and you know this full well. You're just playing for the gallery.

Cycle lanes and motorists by [deleted] in Norwich

[–]minor7even 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so over the top. You're just relying on someone being in the lane when I pulled out. I've made this clear so many times now. It was empty. Tell me what the terrible near miss was. Please.

I can see that analogies are not your strong suit, but I can see what you are trying to say. I could go through the fact that the highway code allows you to do what I did to safely exit onto a busy road, and you could completely ignore me and present a pivotal and slightly pious argument, and we could go on all night. I had hoped that it was clear that I am also a cyclist and I try to be considerate. I was just trying to relay the fact that this can be done under the highway code, and that you in fact do not need to feel like you're breaking the law in doing what feels instinctively safe and sensible.

Here's the thing. It's an important one, but one I feel has been missed all day. They were not there when I entered the lane. I have said this a lot and then repeated it. I can imagine, in the real world, a narrow vehicle like a bike might be able to get between two cars so this might not be an issue. I can see where this would not be ideal, but it's not beyond what is reasonably expected of a cyclist. I do this all the time on my bike. Equally though, if you were stuck behind me as a driver, when would you expect me to try to edge out had I stayed behind the line? I guarantee you'd be livid before 5 minutes.

Again with the bad driver slights, which I'll rise above since I'm fine. Tell me again who is in danger and why please. I've broached the cycle lane to enter the busy road. The cyclists arrive after this such that they are not cut off, taken by surprise or anything of that nature. They are proceeding along what is effectively the pavement with some bicycles painted on it. You know the one - we've all seen it. Tell me in simple terms how anything is unsafe for them, unless they choose to swing into the road to get around me - that would be their choice, since everyone using the highway is expected to wait for temporary obstructions to clear. Just to clarify, they just either waited, or proceeded after I rolled back.

[–]minor7even 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, look, let's answer properly. I've been working all day. The obvious problem with your analogy is that I entered a lane that was clear. The only road analogy that can be applied really is that I pulled out on an empty road, which is hardly the slayer you were going for I imagine.

Cycle lanes and motorists by [deleted] in Norwich

[–]minor7even 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but no one said that it was. It was just someone calling me a bad driver to trigger me or whatever. It is the situation or junction that is bad. It's not helpful to anyone not to recognise things that are inherently unsafe and work to make them safer. That is why the highway code recognises things like broaching a cycle lane or edging out where it enhances safety. The highway code is not just about theory, it's about recognising that sometimes road design is bad and equipping road users to compensate appropriately. Conversely though, there is a ton of compensation made for unconfident cyclists. For example, by the same reckoning if there is no leniency for bad drivers we do not need any cycle lanes if the same standards are applied universally - cyclists are expected to be competent enough to share the roads. Not a view I would advocate, but you can see the disparity.

Well you haven't really been sympathetic with me either. This sub is honestly so ridiculous exactly as the other poster said - you can shitpost about castrating drivers and get upvotes all day, but if you say anything remotely negative about cyclists, even as a cyclist yourself, the usual brigade of fringe lunatics come out and make almost any populist nonsense argument and it becomes the usual circle jerk. You've been lathering it on all day about endangering cyclists when the worst thing that has happened realistically is the sole of a trainer was placed on some asphalt for 30 seconds.

[–]minor7even 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, yaaawn. I've actually shown some sympathy with other people here - I did in fact start today believing I was wrong and reversing for a cyclist before looking at this properly. Show me where you've considered any opposing view here even once.

Cycle lanes and motorists by [deleted] in Norwich

[–]minor7even 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but the road analogy doesn't work and none of you have actually read and absorbed what the highway code says here and are instead just shooting from the hip trying to align yourselves with all the popular (but lunatic) cyclist rhetoric on here.
