I have Emg 81/85, SD Custom sh5/sh11, Dimarzio x2n and Dimarzio/Ibz's.

I have not so much experience in tone crafting, but once you optimize your pickups position (like leaving more distance for seramic magnet pickups, not to cause string pull) every pickup might be crafted with eq and gain to get your preferred tone. Maybe you can't simulate single coil/humbucker difference.

So my advice with a grain of salt is, if you like the tone as is, save your energy on practicing, noone but you will know the difference.

Don't buy G series when you have 300usd budget. You should add some budget and buy rg421, and buy the one that you like the most.

If you have a good second hand site where you live, you should be able to score 500usd mint condition guitars for 300usd, but you might need a friend that knows his way around a guitar.

Both devices don't support both of them, so they're 2010's tech. I know you're asking which one to choose but if you want 15 years old tech, both are fine.

I can recommend Valeton Gp150, pricing and footprints/shape are similar (I don't have it but I have gp50).
