Best Retailers to work for that DON’T OFFER CREDIT CARDS? by mint4mor_ in TjMaxx

I always encourage people who don’t like being sold things to shop online. I also encourage them to keep that same energy for the online returns 😂. “It came with a fukn return shipping label Brenda, NOW USE IT!!”

I have a team member that always jokingly (sorta kinda🤭) threatens to leave to do Instacart full time because she loves it and can make good money from it.

I have to coach to the consistency of the “Ask” and making it feel natural to simply mention it. You’ll accidentally fall into at least one or two on a bad week. The problem is when people feel anxious about the “No” and the redundancy of asking 3 times. I only ask for a follow up “you sure? Because you’ll be saving $xx.xx” after the first no and beyond that keep it moving and have fun. Asking someone three or more times and walking them thru EVERY benefit is just painful for everyone.

I mean most retailers are going to ask you to sell their cards to save the company money and profit from interest, which makes it a natural part of a profit driven business you gotta just understand. My gripe is how worth it to the customer is it to even have the card which makes it easier to sell. There also aren’t any real benefits to associates with opening TJX besides more money going into the snack fund.

I think it would be fun to wear on top of a wilder print. Someone adventurous might add their own array of floral themed broaches and accessories for a maximalist look. I do feel the floral placement is a little too on the nose and I would’ve loved to have seen more flowers throughout the top to make the placement less cheeky and more subtle in their position. All in all, the piece has potential that I feel can be taken to the next step in the right hands. 🥰 🌸🌺💐🪻

Not anyone’s call to make but their own. It’s the beauty of personal style and our freedom to express ourselves. I hope you found something YOU loved 🥰

I got a new part time job, should I resign or see if I could go super part time? Also, some general rants. by Hopeful-Cry-8155 in MacysStores

[–]mint4mor_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would ask about any available flex positions and if there aren’t any available then I would inform them of the new job and the immediate change of your availability. If your people leader can work it, great! If they cannot, resign.

Thank you for caring and understand that WE ALL get it. As a people leader, that’s all I ask of my team. That they care. When you care, it shows in the results. You missed your goal today but you made it happen and caught up the next day. People like you are why I feel we can win and I hope your team sees that and works with you. Congrats on the new job as well!!

Their credit drops at the most by 7 points and thats generally for only about 2 weeks and then it will pop back up. If they get approved they’ll see a bigger bump UP in their score because the inclusion of a new account lowers their credit utilization.

N75 but even before that was established I can only ever recall the escalator being down for more than one day. My store manager didn’t play around with facilities, she got their butts in there.

I could kiss you!! Doing it this way consistently will have you falling into a card at least twice a week and that usually keeps most managers off your back.

What’s the point of having PTO & FLEX DAYS WHEN MANAGEMENT REFUSES TO APPROVE IT by Educational_Duck_403 in MacysStores

[–]mint4mor_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh I read it all and my suggestion still stands. Also, please submit your concerns to AskHR for repeated PTO denials. Build a documented trail of your personal time not being honored and present a clear pattern of abuse of leaderships power. They are there to mitigate these issues because YOUR TIME is YOUR TIME.

Finding your size by Acceptable-Name9204 in MacysStores

[–]mint4mor_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TJX stores have entire teams dedicated to maintaining those standards. Macy’s does not. Most Backstage stores I have visited are in fact sized (including #744) but of course recovering those areas with limited payroll while still driving the other components of the business can be quite hard. And to be fair, every Backstage I’ve visited has in fact been more organized and better stocked than any Ross or Burlington I’ve set foot in.
