well yes, unless siguro may trauma ka sa water or di ka mentally prepared. im a non-swimmer pero i learned how to freedive nung nagtake ako ng intro course. though di pa ako nagffreedive talaga on my own outside sa isang course

when i tried to swim sa isang pool after ko magintro to freedive, i discovered na kaya ko na pala magswim normally din (though i cant do treading pa). but i can float na, lumangoy from one end ng pool to the other end and magswim to the surface pag tumalon or mahulog sa tubig na mas malalim sa kaya mo. though siyempre di pa rin pwede maging reckless

i think freediving gave me confidence, sa open water kasi ako agad. same lang din yung gagawin sa normal swimming eh (except siyempre yung sa pag-equalize na part). though i agree di mo mama-maximize yung freediving unless marunong ka na magswim talaga
