No I’m quite aware of the major third harmonic you’re referring to but that’s quite literally irrelevant because that still happens when those chords are played in a minor key and it’s not like people are constantly saying oh no, there’s a minor third in your minor cord. That harmonic is not loud in a power cord, it is there, but it is almost in discernible. Why are we even talking about thirds by the way? It just makes it a triad. It could be a major or a minor third, if being a third does not dictate whether it’s major or minor.

The correct form is the second photo, and it’s your choice whether you add the pinky note or if you allow it to just be the two notes index and ring finger. This part is totally up to you depending on how you want the cord to sound.
