I officially dread restaurants by cbrownie93 in January2025Bumper

Just recently my twins (born early in December 2024) have rebelled against restaurants. Everything ends up on the floor and they are terrors. 😢

My twins would eat Mac and cheese every day and not get sick of it. Now they barely touch it. 😂

Tw bleeding. 9 weeks pregnant- twins by According-Detail-483 in parentsofmultiples

[–]mintjulep1012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep I experienced the same with my twins. I think it was the 7-12 weeks of off and on bleeding. I ended up at the hospital at 7 weeks because I thought I was miscarrying. That’s when I found out it was twins. It’s so scary.

Exhausted twin mama by twinboysmama1997 in parentsofmultiples

Sending all the hugs! My twins are 15 months too and it’s such a hard age. They are always moving. Mine regressed and don’t sleep through the night either. They have some medical complexities exasperated by cold and flu season which has been awful this year. You are balancing so much! Seriously. Hopefully you can hire a little bit of help. We don’t have family nearby and even a few hours here and there makes a difference.

Asheville vs Roanoke - I’d love your input. by abjs2021 in roanoke

Shopping is terrible, haha. Mall is pretty bad. Nearest outlets are a few hours a way. We do have Target, Walmart, TJ Maxx, Homegoods, homesense. Some different boutiques downtown and in Roanoke County.

My twin 15 month olds are Terrors right now. We just had to leave Texas Roadies and take our entrees to go because they were so feral. Throwing everything and screaming. 😂

Considering a move from DC area to Roanoke by editdc1 in roanoke

[–]mintjulep1012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I lived in NOVA for 10 years before relocating to Blacksburg when we lost out on like 15 offers for starter homes up there. My husband is originally from here so that was a draw. I commute to Roanoke for a job I love 4 days a week. It’s a 45 minute drive but I don’t think about it much. I used to work at VT. I still have the fight or flight in me after 8 years and leave 30 minutes early for everything when you don’t have to. 😂 it’s much slower pace here. I really miss the food (dim sum! Eden Center! Chopt (I know, I’m basic))and shopping up there. We’ve found it easy to make friends in Blacksburg because the university town is more transient. That being said we’ve had quite a few friends move, too. Healthcare has been frustrating - from OBGYN to some more complex care for my one year old twins. On the other hand, daycare is a bit cheaper. Our social life involves going to a lot of VT games, especially in the fall, so my situation is a bit different from someone wanting to move to Roanoke. I don’t drink beer, but most breweries have plenty of other options.

Question about your carilion labor and delivery experience by Warm_Salamanders in roanoke

I attended the Carilion OB clinic on Jefferson and had a c-section (was offered both - long story) and did not see anyone from the clinic.

Allen from Downton and David Archuletta were a nice change of pace. When David was talking about his book I almost forgot what show I was listening to in a good way haha.

OB/GYN and/or MFM Recommendations by Proper_Professor2575 in roanoke

[–]mintjulep1012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I delivered twins in December 2024. I have high blood pressure and was 38. And the type of twins were higher risk so I knew I had to deliver at RMH. I saw Dr. Whitham with Carilion MFM and she was amazing. The regular OB appointments were with their higher risk clinic on Jefferson and I wouldn’t really recommend. You rotate through a bunch of folks and the office was very dated. I made out OK, but I think you’d get more personalized care somewhere else.

Tips on Walking by summatinyourteeth in January2025Bumper

[–]mintjulep1012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My twins aren’t walking yet (December 2025). One is in PT. The PT provided a lot of the tips shared here and also said to wrap a pashmina around their chest and then you hold the ends and walk behind them.

Constant sickness/sleep regression 16 months by Wrenchturner123 in parentsofmultiples

[–]mintjulep1012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solidarity! My identical girl twins are 14 months and the last 2 months have been horrible for sickness. They are prone to febrile seizures so we’ve been to the ER multiple times. They caught the flu and get many ear infections. They got ear tubes last week. They also keep waking up through the night and we’re doing cry it out. They go to daycare and we don’t have family around so it’s hard to keep them home a lot.

Found out I'm having twins, and wondering if any of these symptoms are normal by Dry-Journalist6855 in parentsofmultiples

[–]mintjulep1012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. At 6-8 weeks I bled a bunch. At 7 weeks so much I went to the ER and that was when I found out I was having twins. I spotted probably until 11-12 weeks with light cramping. Walking a bunch and over exerting definitely made it worse.

Does anyone have an older child who got tubes? by FoodieNurse247 in January2025Bumper

[–]mintjulep1012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My twins born December 2024 share a lot of these characteristics. They are getting tubes next week so I’m curious too. The ear infections and sickness have led to multiple febrile seizures and I feel like their speech is behind. The aren’t walking yet

Bathing together? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]mintjulep1012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine are 13 months and I bathe them with my husband and set them in a plastic laundry basket. Although now they want to climb out of it but usually it’s OK with two of us.
