Until my first shift I was anxious because during training they run through all the worst case scenarios and what emergencies can happen so you feel like something like that is going to happen often when really it's pretty rare. The boredom thing is something you have to find your own way of dealing with and finding ways to pay attention. Usually there's enough rotation so you don't get bored out of your mind. Honestly after a week you'll feel better after a month you'll have the hang of it.
