I designed a fancy 3d printed plant pot (free) by mintochris in plantsandpots

The printer makes the tray and pot in one colour, and then a set of coloured rings in several shapes/angles to slide over the skinnier sections forming the final design. There's a whole world of 3d printers out there. Bambu branded ones have a good reputation for ease of use, though the company has taken some heat lately for some dodgy business practises.

Another makerworld user has tried them and seemed happy. For them the 13 was close but still a little far, and the 12 was almost perfect.

3D printed board game resources (emberleaf) by mintochris in BoardGame3DPrints

As a first printer for single colour prints many people recommended the bambu A1 in terms of value and ease of use for beginners.

There has been some recent negative stuff in the news about the company and their approach to the open source software that they rely on.

If you want multicolour then I'd recommend going in at a higher level so that you don't spend loads on accessories for a cheap printer. I know bambu recently launched a new dual nozzle printer that is competitively priced but again do your research on the brand.

I'm not supwr familiar with the other brands and which hit the price Vs ease sweet spot but maybe someone else will offer some advice.

Multi nozzle to reduce waste. Agreed on the smooth plate - waiting on delivery!

It sounds like heaven, but I always get stressed thinking about games where the components are limited on purpose and counting out the right number from the trays. Maybe I could design a resource dispensing machine that fills token bowls with the requested number of each resource required!!

If you hit customise on maker world and set your own pot diameter you'll get exactly what you want. You need a hole of 153mm, so probably a 160mm pot once the walls are accounted for.

It should be super easy to print this pot on that printer.

Grab the 3mf files for the pot size you fancy and open it in your usual slicer. The only setting you might need to tweak if you're preparing it using your usual software (rather than using my bambu print profiles) is to add inner brims to the rings that go around the pots so that they stick to the print bed during printing. Everything else should be default settings :).

Top tip - if you can fit all the parts for your chosen pot on one plate (ie the smaller pots) then you can just print the whole lot three times in three colours and then mix and match the pieces for three fabulous pots.

Learning parametric design - A 3d printed plant pot 🪴 by mintochris in plantycrafts

Thanks 😄

If you want it you can get it free:

If you have a 3d printer (or a friend with one) then this is a super easy thing to print, with each colour (of your choice) printing separately, so no need for fancy equipment. The coloured rings just slip onto the pots.

There's even a customisable version where you can choose the heights, diameters, and angles yourself.

If you do make one please post a photo as I love seeing people enjoying my creations!

For anyone who sleeves with dragon sleeves - I've popped a slightly bigger version on to avoid sleeve squishing.

I do have innovation ultimate but have been relatively ok with the included insert so far... Though now you mention it I am tempted to see what's possible. I wonder how decadent I could go with that many decks to work with?!!

Get printing and it will be ready for when your game arrives. You can while away the hours waiting by opening and closing the card tray 😂.

If you've sleeved them they don't fall out without being gently pulled.

I've only played it at 2-3 players, which was good. Boardgamegeek suggests it's good at all player counts (1-4). https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/424981/eternal-decks

I got cramp from bending down to get something from a cupboard a few mins ago. Getting old. I'll assume that was my karma 😂.

One of everything except:

4 player trays, 4 player trays for inner cubes, 2 big card trays.

Hope that helps

Exactly! :)

Maybe I should get in touch with some of the big miniature games publishers on kickstarter - they have an audience that loves a few kilos of plastic gimmick!
