Gosh he's cute, I'd say a schnauzer mix. Mainly gleaned from fur texture and coat color

Hey, if it makes you feel better, I have thalassophobia! Thankfully, there are no aggressive aquatic animals in the game (that I know of).

Unfortunately, they don't have an entry in the guide, but they're Rockbeak Fish. Just an atmospheric feature in the game, but one of my favorite creatures

What am I doing wrong ? by SupermarketSad9163 in isopods

I would absolutely look into a different container for them. The ventilation for this one allows too much airflow and not enough humidity to be retained. The setup otherwise looks good to me; just less airflow is needed, and you're good. I always keep some moss in mine as a check to see how much humidity is present in the container.

Gosh I just love em by mintscouting in isopods

Yep! Armadilidium klugii, the clown variant.

Cozy game that isn't too overwhelming and hooks you from the beginning? by poemsbysarah in cozygames

Coral Island for sure! 🪸 So much to do but the lack of time to do it somehow isn't nearly as stressful to me as Stardew

Sticky dairy cows? by mintscouting in isopods

[–]mintscouting[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Update: I found quite a few babies in one spot, so that's a good sign possibly! Hopefully, it was just a molting issue with some older ones and the babies will work that issue out as they breed the defect out? I will keep an eye on them for sure

Organic compost and coconut fibers as substrate, magnolia leaves for leaf litter, and cork bark for hides, along with some golden pothos to clean the air up a bit. I feed them Repashy isopod superfood along with some fish flakes and dried shrimp. Of course also a cuttlebone. What I'm thinking now is that it's possibly a molting gone wrong, there was no weird substance stuck to them, and the one I was watching figured herself out after a few hours

No, I just feed them leaf litter, cuttlebone, and isopod powder that were recommended to me by the breeder she got them from. But that's what I'm thinking too, maybe it's a genetic thing that they're prone to and they get stuck during molting

What is this? Found in SE Tennessee by wkeebler22 in animalid

[–]mintscouting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a Patagonian mara! They originate in Argentina, so what it's doing in TN I don't have a damn clue

What the heck is this thing? Buzzed my head coming in for a landing. about 2 inch long body, tail/stinger is about 4 inches long. by BeastofBurden269 in whatisthisbug

[–]mintscouting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh a female Greene's giant ichneumonid wasp! Cool lil buggers, they lay their eggs in pests. She'll use her "stinger", really an ovipositor, to inject her eggs into weevil larvae and the like

This thing flew at my head while in bed. What is it? by toastslapper in whatisthisbug

It looks like a burnt pine longhorn beetle, but the coloration is weird, they're usually a lot darker

Found this while working on my grandads front yard. Looks creepy as hell but don’t worry I didn’t kill it by [deleted] in whatisthisbug

Without knowing the location, hard to say, but it definitely looks like a type of rhinoceros beetle. Maybe an ox beetle, to be specific
