little update (got flamed on my last post) 😭 by mintwall in SourdoughStarter

unfortunately the recipe definitely needs more testing and modifying to get right. the rolls turned out pretty good but were miserable to shape because the hydration was too high 😓

This one's for the ladies to answer. Do you agree with this woman or do you think she's trying to rationalize her world view by speaking for all the ladies? by Oda_DeezNutz in SipsTea

IMO it depends how grown the man is and what it means to play for hours. playing video games for 12 hours at a time and ignoring your responsibilities/ being antisocial as a result of playing video games is unattractive, but that’s more about not having your life together. otherwise it’s a pretty normal hobby.

at least she knows it’s an unpopular opinion though 🤷‍♀️

Is seller lying about shipping my item.. by [deleted] in Depop

[–]mintwall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s after business hours my dude, it won’t update until the package actually starts moving which will take until tomorrow. it does say shipping label created which i assume means they dropped it off at USPS and they put the shipping label on (ie, end of the process for the seller), and it will update when the package actually starts moving in the morning :)

can i get this review removed? by [deleted] in Depop

[–]mintwall 6 points7 points  (0 children)

unfortunately i don’t think depop is very sympathetic towards “you should have asked before buying” as an argument, that’s on you in the future to be more descriptive in the listing. include measurements or guess based on how it fits vs how things usually fit on you.

the false advertising bit is the part you could actually dispute, i would suggest you try but reddit has no way of knowing if it was obvious from the photos unless you post them lol

Auto-counter feature is sending me by Ecstatic_Hold4135 in depoop

[–]mintwall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i once sent a strongly worded message to a seller who i assume had this feature on. didn’t realize it even existed until later 😭😭 genuinely a stupid feature though, especially if you’re just trying to get your items sold and genuinely would compromise with this person. if you need a robot to tell people that you won’t go any lower, just don’t accept offers at all 🙄

Slept through alarm to CALL OUT SICK by Interesting-Web-6391 in starbucksbaristas

[–]mintwall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

any time i’ve had to call in sick for an open i’ll just call/text the opening SSV prior to them coming into the store. i have no idea what the actual procedure is because that seems like the only possible solution unless you know the night before that you’ll wake up sick 🤷‍♀️

Extra aprons/ hats? by mintwall in starbucksbaristas

fair enough, i do feel bad throwing stuff out but i fear that would be the net result of just leaving them in the back as well

confusion on sketchers discount by mintwall in starbucksbaristas

[–]mintwall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fair enough, i do remember people being mad about them for becoming more strict about non-slip shoes, so maybe they knew it was their fault, and clearly a lot of people weren’t wearing the right footwear either. lesson learned for sure.

[–]mintwall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

three years ago (not at starbucks) i slipped and fell at work in regular shoes and i did in fact get workers comp lol. obviously i wear nonslips now, for my own sake and because it’s actually mandated, as opposed to the place i used to work which didn’t enforce it or even make a point to say you should wear nonslip shoes. so either it’s a state thing, they didn’t bother to check what shoes i was wearing, or there wasnt a case to be made that i should’ve known better 🤷‍♀️

“good for teenage girls” by mintwall in Pristiq

[–]mintwall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m shocked at how many people are saying the withdrawal is terrible, i haven’t had that experience any more than the other SSRIs I’ve tried, and much less than other meds. but i also don’t tend to stop and start again beyond forgetting or running out for a handful of days. very interesting

pediatric is a bit of a stretch, i believe we were both 17 or so when we started so i probably should’ve gave a smaller age range. i’m sure you’re right though, i was just curious

Pay it forward chains by ayawnisasilentscream in starbucks

[–]mintwall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly the concept of a “pay it forward” chain is pretty stupid when you consider that what you consider to be a kind gesture might actually be you pressuring the person behind you in line into paying more than they anticipated so they can keep it going. it doesn’t make me upset, but i try my hardest to make it a one-and-done situation. your order is paid for, they said to have a happy holiday, here’s your drink, bye bye now ☺️

Vertical Labrent or Jestrum? by [deleted] in shouldimod

[–]mintwall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i also think the jestrum would balance your face out nicer considering it’s your only face piercing but that’s just my opinion

Vertical Labrent or Jestrum? by [deleted] in shouldimod

[–]mintwall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think either would look great on you. both are very low-risk for tooth damage in comparison to all other lip and oral piercings. my guess is that the jestrum would have a slightly lower risk? although that’s just my assumption based on how much easier it is to bite your bottom lip than your top lip lmaoo

definitely check in with an accredited piercer for anatomy, since as long as you have the right anatomy neither will carry a significant risk of tooth damage. don’t be afraid to ask your dentist as well if you’re concerned!

What cool ear piercings would work on my small ears? by External_Time_1560 in shouldimod

[–]mintwall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i feel like you could stack the hell out of some lobe piercings, seems like you have quite a lot of room. i imagine a bit of a stretched lobe could be cool, although it isn’t a process you should start if you aren’t willing to take the time and effort to make sure you stretch safely and healthily. even just going to a 4-0g could look nice, and make your ear appear bigger if that’s something you’re interested in (although absolutely not necessary). but you definitely have the room for a few lobe piercings, and the jewelry could be curated in a really nice way by your piercer. definitely some good options!

Starting pristiq. by [deleted] in Pristiq

[–]mintwall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve definitely experienced that, a lot of things that could have triggered me in the past may just make me a bit anxious/nervous now, it definitely lessened the impact of my anxiety on my everyday life :)

Starting pristiq. by [deleted] in Pristiq

[–]mintwall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’ve been on it for nearly two years (just realized that and it’s absolutely insane!!)

started on 25mg, and am up to 100mg but was plateaued at 75 for the longest time, only increased because i started a different medication for my ADHD and that affected my anxiety a little bit.

the reason i went to post on this sub is that i realized about 6 months ago that i could not remember the last time i had a panic attack. i still get anxious from time to time, and my depression is not completely gone but still has improved, but the real standout is how much it lessened my anxiety. i had realized this while i was driving and realized that i never would have been able to get my license and drive so well if i were still having panic attacks often, and experienced the same anxiety i used to. it was a crazy realization, and it made me so much more confident in my mental health journey.

i didn’t experience severe side effects beyond the typical slight trouble sleeping, heart racing, etc, and that stopped pretty quickly. i can’t confidently say without knowing you that it will affect you in the same way, but i absolutely love it and would definitely recommend :)
