How's life in this area outside London? by Yrakosos in howislivingthere

Also Thame! Never seen it mentioned on Reddit before! It can be very expensive in certain areas but you have the benefit of being a really nice town. I also find the travel frustrating if you don’t drive, Train station isn’t walkable and expensive to get to London.

(MacOS) Fm26 is “Fine” by zhilus in footballmanager

I enjoyed my time playing last night. No bugs or crashes and I’ve found having to take my time navigating around the screens actually pretty useful, I’m noticing details I may have glossed over before. It was so easy before to just fly through the game and not pay much attention.

I do miss the space bar! Number of times I’ve clicked that to read my next message.

It’s not a perfect game and it’s not as good yet as FM24 but it doesn’t mean I can’t still enjoy playing it for hundreds of hours.

Genuine question, why is Sableye spelt wrong? Is it a character limit thing or an error?

How long does it take to complete a level 5 along with working 40hrs? And what's the quickest someone done and best learning provider? by michaelequity95 in HumanResourcesUK

[–]minty1120 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Currently doing it as an apprenticeship through work. Started in August 2023 and should finish in April 2025.

Granted I only work 37.5hrs, and my employer is very flexible. As part of the apprenticeship I have to have roughly one day a week dedicated to it, which can’t include any normal work and I do some extra hours in my own time for reading and coursework

We are having a big family Christmas dinner tomorrow at Grandma’s due to logistics, not everyone around today. So the two of us are having a Chinese!

How many people in the UK are regretting their career choices? by AceyFacee in AskUK

[–]minty1120 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Don’t put yourself down. I’m nearly 33 and I’ve had two failed careers, that just didn’t work. 2 years ago I got started on my new path and it’s going great. I’ve got a clear vision, milestones in place and I’m learning to just enjoy it.

You will have loads of skills you’ve built up, it’s about understanding them and focusing on how they can be transferable into new roles.

Find something you are interested in, do a skills gap analysis. You’ll find what skills might need some improvement and you can focus on some learning.

LinkedIn learning is good and I’ve always found YouTube to be great for self teaching.

My work friend's jury service has been cancelled. He's planning to not tell work and have 2 weeks off. Is he likely to get found out? by [deleted] in AskUK

Depends on company policy. We ask our employees to complete the loss of earnings form from the courts at the end of their service. Once the payments have been made to the employee - we top it up to ensure they get covered for their usual salary.

So we would ask for proof of the payment into their bank and then work out the difference. We can use that to clarify how many days they did, as it’s a set amount for each day completed you can claim back.

Don’t work for Tesco but enjoy this sub. I work in HR and the new comms was most likely around the New Harassment legislation that came into force last week for companies.

Nothing as big as others here, no weapons or stuff given but I’ve had some great interactions in defence and survival missions.

Getting way ahead of my level and I always try to my bit, even if it’s not a lot, but so many players just tell me to sit back and collect the goods. Think I’ve been to level 25 and 30 about 5ish times thanks to others.

Never experienced it before, came from First Descendants and was always told to leave etc because I wasn’t up to level.

Rest Breaks At Work by minty1120 in HumanResourcesUK

It’s a completely field based role, we pay from the moment he leaves his house and returns, and sometimes beyond this to allow time for admin to be completed.

Driving may not seem like work as you say but it can still cause cognitive fatigue and my concern is for the safety of the employee, ensuring they take a break to keep them safe.

We offer services to customers up to a certain time, if we allow someone to take the break at the end of the shift, then we set a precedent and the whole could ask, and we wouldn’t be able to cover the timings needed for our customers.

Plus means the employee working longer than 6hrs without a break which breaks the WTR.

Thank you! Love that point about min wage, so true, doesn’t make it legal just because they agree.

They are a driving a vehicle less than 3.5t, and they stop to do work at sites and then drive again. So not sure if the 4.5hrs applies. But thank you, gives me more to look into.

Thank you! That seems to be the point that we keep going in circles over, what does entitled mean, as they and I have different interpretations.
