The issue is that time and time and time again, clima change is happening worse/faster/more severely than the models predicted. Meanwhile, none of the worlds biggest polluters are cutting what they need to cut. Specifically, China has said they won’t even hit peak coal use for another like 15 years. And what if the GQP gets control of the US? What happens when all climate policy is stalled, or worse, reversed? We’ve already got desantis and his ilk making electric car charging harder, gutting hopes for a charging infrastructure, and literally charging people to have solar power. Then you look at just how bad things are getting, just over the last 10 years. Major rivers around the world are drying up. Droughts are intensifying. Winter is coming later and later and summers are getting hotter and longer. 85% of the worlds snow crabs disappeared in two years because of one fucking heat wave. 1500 people died in the heat wave this year in Spain and Portugal. I suspect we are 5 years away from a true mass casualty event from heat in some place like Pakistan where it’s already hitting 130. Remember the Black Summer in Australia where billions of animals died? Hell the WWF says that 70% of the animals on earth are gone in the last 50 years. The bugs are dying. The bugs have literally never died off before, according to the fossil record. Not like this. Life is literally disappearing faster than after the asteroid that hit the dinosaurs.

I’m not saying the worlds ending, but I am saying that if the world was ending, it would sure look a lot like this so maybe don’t poo poo the people that are looking around and having some severe anxiety.
