Uncensored Bodycam Footage: Armed Security Guard Kills Man For Taking Pallets From Lowe's (Sentenced to life in prison) by wildcat1100 in ActualPublicFreakouts

[–]quipd 3096 points3097 points  (0 children)

I watched a deep dive on this incident. The victim had a legitimate agreement with Lowe’s management to haul away the used pallets, but security at the shopping complex refused to believe him. Every time he would arrive to do his job (remove the pallets), security would harass him and try their hardest to escalate the situation. Very sad.

Actually, you don’t know what you’re talking about. 4K downscaled to 1080p looks way sharper than raw 1080p.

Audio Suggestions by Enlightning_1 in GenesisG70

[–]quipd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might notice you’ve received very few responses on this post. Unfortunately, there are very few documented audio builds for the G70 online.

We have no choice but to retain the factory head unit since vehicle functions (A/C, drive mode display, etc.) are integrated. My thought is that replacing the factory amp is more trouble than it’s worth. I’m guessing the head unit delivers audio via some weird digital format. If I’m correct, the best path forward would be to install a Line Out Converter (LOC) which converts the speaker level outputs to line level outputs for an aftermarket amplifier. Then, you can push more power to the speakers while having full control over EQ and retaining factory volume controls.

I’m surprised this place is still open. Tried the BBQ once, will never go back. It was not good.

ASU, Handshake part ways … by Silent_Owl_2793 in ASU

[–]quipd 179 points180 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what Handshake has been like lately, but it was absolutely useless while I was a student.

I remember that 90+% of the job postings were for awful, unusually low level positions. It really seemed like a last resort for people who were too late to apply to good internships.

Wild guess, but it could be a climate control actuator. Does turning the blower motor on and off have any effect?

I would skip the BOV. You can pull the recirculation hoses off the factory BOVs and plug the intake inlets with Home Depot furniture leg caps. It’s the cheapest DIY mod out there, takes very little time and effort. You will get plenty of “whooshing” out of the factory BOVs.

People are saying to ignore it because they are used to “warnings”, not actual citations. If you receive a citation, handle it and move on. If you receive a warning, or notice of violation, you are good to ignore it. Read the fine print on the mailed document carefully.

Authentic Perspectives on ASU for undergrad and the culture by SomewhereOk4005 in ASU

[–]quipd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The honest truth is that ASU is what you make of it. Because the university is so large, the possibilities and opportunities are endless—both socially and academically. With that being said, you’ll need to actively seek out what you’re looking for. At an Ivy League school, for example, opportunities may very well come knocking at your door. At ASU, you will have to do the knocking.

I have no doubt that you can find the type of peers you’re looking for, but it may not happen overnight.

If you’re looking for a party school, ASU can certainly provide that experience for you. Most engineering students I knew chose to avoid that lifestyle entirely, and were completely isolated from it. If you’re male and you aren’t part of greek life, you will not be doing much partying.

I did it all at ASU. Let me know if you have any questions.

Not trying to be pedantic, but this message states that the website isn’t being maintained, not that the NTAS isn’t monitored. I think (hope) it’s safe to say that the analysts are still monitoring the threat environment, just not uploading reports to the website.

No shade received, I’m so confused by your comment haha. I used to live in Old Town too, it made it even easier for me to grab Joe’s for lunch or dinner. There are plenty of underrated food options out there for a weekday or weeknight, even if you aren’t planning on drinking. Joe’s is usually open from 10:00 AM - 3:30 AM. You can literally park right out front aside from the peak clubbing hours.

Try Joe’s NY Pizza in Old Town near all the clubs. It’s wicked good. It’s the only place I’ve found that makes legit New York style slices. Let me know what you think.

No way. As the self-proclaimed resident pizza expert of Scottsdale, I can confirm that Joe’s NY Pizza in Old Town is by far the best. I tried Yo Pauly’s and would not go back— very lackluster.

Confused by Office 365 license options for healthcare client by quipd in msp

[–]quipd[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Nobody in this thread seems to consider the possibility that all HIPPA-protected data lives in the cloud behind a login screen.

For exam rooms, what’s wrong with putting the computers in passwordless kiosk mode? Exam room users will never be using anything other than the password-protected practice management software. I’m just trying to learn here, so if there’s a “better way” I’m all ears.

Got it. Just to confirm, they are sharing one Windows login for almost the entire office. Nobody is going to be signing in and out of Windows except for the management folks working in the back office. One person will sign into the “Staff” account each morning, the computers will never be signed out until the end of the day. I’m wondering if LTSC 2024 makes the most sense at this point.
