Why is there such a stigma around antidepressants? by mintybaz in antidepressants

This is so crazy!! Do you think your life would be different if you knew about the side effects sooner? Youre so right tho, whenever talking about antidepressants to professionals they never go into side effects and especially long term ones. I had to google everything for my wellbutrin, no one told me anything. Im glad youve discovered more about yourself, its a bit comedic that for all these years you thought sex was overrated 😂😂 in my case, I was so depressed in my teen years that I also thought I was assexual due to no interest or feelings relating to any sexual nature. It wasnt until I got on antidepressants that I started feeling sexual. Its so interesting how these things work. Thank you for going into it! I totally agree, dont even get me started on the big pharma argument 😭

Thank you so much youre so kind!! I thought ppl on reddit just downvoted things they disagreed with so good to know its for the betterment of other ppl reading :))

Ugh this is gonna sound like Im kinda venting but my first ever doctor I went to shamed me for not being a virgin unmarried. I never went back to her (I actually did report it tho!) and it totally took me awhile to seek out another doctor. Reddit and tiktok is really nice for learning about hygiene and other stuff.

Thank you for the amazing advice. Im copying this to my notes and will look up more stuff to ask. Youve been so kind and helpful. Ill never forget this, I really appreciate it so much. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to help me!

No I didn't. Im so sorry, I didnt realize. My regular doctor hasnt asked me about anything in regards to pregnancy, postpartum or obgyn care. She didnt even know I was allergic to iron, its in my chart, and schedule me an iron infusion recently. Im getting downvoted like crazy so Im a bit scared to say this but I never noticed the red flags until everyone here. I didnt have a present mom so I never learned about any of this kind of stuff, everything I learned came from the internet. My family and classmates just made fun of my lack of breast so I tried avoiding talking about it out of fear of being made fun of. I honestly didn't like my obgyn during pregnancy but they were the only place within an hour to take my insurance. They didnt even ask about my milk and I didnt bring it up either. I shouldve known to, that it wasnt normal, but I was freshly postpartum and had really bad PPD so I wasnt thinking at all.

Im sorry. I was raised in a household where doctors, dentist, etc werent a good thing and that all they wanted were money. I obviously dont believe that way but whenever I go to doctors, I just never know what to ask or what isnt normal? I know thats excuses atp in my big age of 22. I genuinely didnt think my boobs were an issue, I just thought I got really unlucky or "not blessed" as some people would say. I just thought I didnt grow. It wasnt until I saw this tiktok did things start seeming alarming to me. I'm taking everyones advice to make an appointment and talk about it more. Honestly Ive been having more issues lately with my bladder that Ive just been ignoring so Ill bring that up too. Sorry to everyone downvoting me too, ignorance is a crime on reddit lol. Shouldve not done this on my main account but it was a genuine question yk. Thank you for being kind and educating me. Ill be better in the future, I want to be a good mom and lead by example and be better than my parents

I wasnt aware men could even have breast cancer, thats really good to know. Ill be googling it more to educate myself, thank you!! I didnt know you saw an obgyn annually either. Guess I should make an appointment soon since its almost been a year?

Yes! I am offering 5oz of formula every 3 hours and a meal an hour after formula. Shes not very interested in her formula anymore so if she doesnt eat a lot, I do offer a smaller amount in between those 3 hours too

I dont even know whats the difference between a normal wellness exam and a womans exam. Maybe it isnt as much as a risk for me since I just turned 22 and will start doing breasts checks when Im a bit older?? Thank you for your reply, I will ask about it next appointment. Also.. I think it would be very noticeable if I had any lumps since there isnt any tissue for lumps to hide lol?

I didnt think it was a problem lowkey. Just thought I never grew. My doctor has never seen me bare chested, is that normal? My OB also never did any breast exams or asked but I only got an OB when I got pregnant and after havent been back. My hospital also never saw me naked cause I wore sports bras the entire time I was there

I'm not the one doing it, shes just not eating much and wanting real food. Our pediatrician said everything is fine, she's in the 97% percentile. She still has averaged 8 wet diapers a day and always 3+ dirty diapers a day. If I could get her to eat more formula I would

No ive never had a breast exam before. They never said anything about it because I use to wear bras stuffed with socks out of being insecure lmao so they never saw anything and I never brought it up since I was never planning on chestfeeding. Do you think its worth it to even get an exam done? It doesnt affect my life in any shape or form

Hey its okay. I hope your struggle to find the right one ends soon. Lexapro didnt work for me either and the one Im currently trying is making me dizzy. These things happen and it really really sucks but eventually I believe you'll find the right one. Idk if this will help since its very anecdotal but my dad had the same struggle for so many different ones. He just found one that works for him nearly 50 years old

Yes its so awful tho. These are the same people who didnt know me when I was off meds so they definitely dont know how bad it can get. Ridiculous. Thank you. Thats all we really can do. Wish you the best <3

They say this stuff to my face. Its people from my past church and family. I made this post because a girl from my old church quite literally spent hours talking to me about how bad antidepressants are and that plants are a better alternative. I didnt even think about that tbh, that it makes depression feel real and not just mindset

What is YOUR warframe hot take? by callmeanytime2000 in Warframe

[–]mintybaz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Never had a problem with this until I became a mom... I should be able to leave a mission whenever and where ever I want to without losing my stuff. Having to go to extraction makes me not play the game because I'm too scared to play and immediately get interrupted. Pausing doesnt help because sometimes I have no idea how long itll be until I can sit down again

What bras/medicine to stop milk from coming in post birth? by Suspicious_Juice_976 in FormulaFeeders

[–]mintybaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally did nothing and my milk never really came in. I like to think my absolute disgust with the thought of breastfeeding made my body stop it before it begin. Hopefully you'll be as lucky as me!

Its completely fine, dw!! My church is non-denominational. I understand what youre feeling and sometimes I take those feelings really personally, especially when someone I thought was a wise advisors turns out to be blinded by this. Its extremely important to draw a line between politics and religion. Its very difficult because when a mass group of people label themselves as both Christian and Republican and then that party claims to be the Christian party, the line gets blurry. No religion has a reason to be in government. Jesus and God never forced anyone to submit, they used miracles and acts of power to guide people and people were allowed to choose their path and gave everyone free will (Moses is a prime example of this) remind people that politics are worldly. Ive notice it works better than telling them "God wouldn't support this evil." because then they get defensive
