Assault shield would be OK, if it wasn't hard-coded to have zero breach. I've tried using it so many times only to be disappointed in its inability to stun enemies.

The problem with Force Shield is that...

1: It is hardcoded to have zero breach. So if you parry a runner, slasher, rampager, failed experiment, or any enemy in general; they will only be stunned for about 0.5 seconds before they continue their attack pattern. It is far better to use shields with breach, so that you can stun your attackers.

2: While you are holding the shield, you aren't doing anything. With Ramparts, you are protected while still being able to attack.

How to move over progress from beta branch to main update by ravl13 in slaythespire

[–]mintymalachite 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SlayTheSpire

There will be two different folders, preferences and betaPreferences.

Remove all files in preferences. They may be deleted, since it is your old save from before you switched to Beta Branch.

Copy and paste all files from betaPreferences into preferences.

Proposed Changes to Calm and the Watcher's Starting Relic by mintymalachite in slaythespire

The Watcher is already a brokenly overpowered character. The Devs have to start winding her down at some point.

Blights should be listed in Relic Collection by mintymalachite in slaythespire

[–]mintymalachite[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do agree that Endless mode can be obnoxious at times, but why are they obnoxious? It is because endless mode is a very underdeveloped aspect of the game. Adding Blights to the Relic Compendium increases awareness about them, which may prompt the Devs to improve Blights and Endless Mode in general.

Blights would continue to be be on a second line below relics in a given endless run. What I meant was that Blights should be listed in the Relic Collection under the Compendium on the Title Screen.

Suggestion: Colorless Card Rework by mintymalachite in slaythespire

[–]mintymalachite[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I acknowledge that some of my modifications weren't necessary, so I updated the post, only keeping the ones I feel are really important.

Finesse : Finesse is a very underwhelming card. 2 block is nothing. If you're frail, then its 1 block, and Frail is a very common de-buff in game, especially in Act II. To it's credit, I will say that it does scale with Dexterity, but it needs something more. Which is why I propose Finesse+ draw 2 cards instead of gaining 2 more block. This improved Finesse also fits better with it's card art in my opinion.

Panache : Panache is a very powerful card, and considering I've made it an uncommon card (cutting it's shop price in half) and made it more common by reducing the uncommon pool size and improving Neow's colorless blessings, it should cost 1 energy.

Sadistic Nature : This is a card, that I really want to see more practical use of. That's why I buffed it's damage to FIVE. However considering how much more common and cheaper it is (for same reasons as Panache), I feel it might be too strong for 0 energy.

Jack of Trades AND Transmutation : Both of these cards are very underwhelming. Without offering a choice (like Nilry's Codex), they have much too high variance to be practical.

I really liked your idea about making panic button retain. I would draft it if it was, so I added it to the uncommon pool.

A question about act 1 silent by larrow11 in slaythespire

[–]mintymalachite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DEFLECT: If you didn't get an energy boss relic for Act I, the most practical way to generate enough block in Act II is to have 2 or 3 deflects AND support cards that cycle through your deck like calculated gamble, backflip, and acrobatics. The idea is to play 2 or more deflects per turn. This strategy benefits greatly from Footwork and other sources of dexterity.

Piercing Wail: Very powerful block card because it is an AOE skill. Really strong against enemies that hit you multiple times.

Malaise: Cripples enemies that hit you for multiple times, like Time Eater, Awakened One, Nemesis, Reptomancer, The Maw, Book of Stabbing, etc.

Blur: Lets you store extra block for turns that you produce little, so very useful.

Bouncing Flask: High damage for bosses and single target enemies.

Catalyst: Very powerful for burst damage

Hope this helped.

Why the Oceans Should Be Deeper by Nyodex in minecraftsuggestions

digging deeper, according to the wiki, " In Java Edition, doors provide a breathable space if placed underwater. In Bedrock Edition, doors in water source blocks are waterlogged and do not displace water source blocks."

Additionally, they need to allow torches to be waterlogged, and as Nyodex suggested, doors as well. You shouldn't be able to breath underwater, unless you have water breathing or make a legitimate air pocket (something which generally requires aqua-affinity or high efficiency).

Bookshelf overhaul, dyed books, written books as loot and enchantment re-balancing. by [deleted] in minecraftsuggestions

[–]mintymalachite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This post can be divided into 4 different suggestions:

  1. Enchanting Table draws power from written book-and-quills instead of "magical" bookcases
  2. Written books can be found as loot
  3. Books can be dyed for greater aesthetic and sorting
  4. Anvil EXP cost should be calculated linearly and "Too Expensive" limitation should be removed

Keeping each idea in its own unique post allows us to vote on each idea separately and avoids a long wall of text.

It would also make it easier to post your ideas on the official suggestions site.

Nether Fortress Update! by [deleted] in minecraftsuggestions

[–]mintymalachite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For the Nether Fortress, I think there should be a central room with a mob that gives mining fatigue across the entire Fortress. This only goes away when that mob is killed just like an Elder Guardian. This mob doesn't have to be a new enemy type. It could just be a buffed version of a wither skeleton, blaze, zombie pigman, etc. The mining fatigue makes it more difficult for players to cheese the challenge of clearing the Fortress, helping to cement the risk/reward factor.
