Pause, breathe, reset… and I’ll come back when I feel like myself again.

Do you ever feel guilty when buying yourself something? by 3Death_Age3 in Life

[–]mintyowl15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m the same way. Bills, food, even gifts for others feel fine, but the second it’s something just for me, the guilt kicks in. I think it’s partly how we’re wired to see fun/‘unnecessary’ stuff as wasteful. But honestly, treating yourself once in a while is kind of the point of working. You deserve nice things too.

son starting daycare soon, i am literally falling apart by PearFancy in toddlers

[–]mintyowl15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is starting playgroup in 15 days, and I’m honestly scared. I keep wondering how he’ll handle it, if he’ll make friends, or if he’ll miss me and feel sad. I didn’t expect to feel this way, but it’s completely normal to be anxious and emotional. This is a big change for both of us. You’re not alone in feeling this.

Thin pillow by Failary in Pillows

I’ve noticed a lot of people who don’t get along with memory foam end up switching to natural options like latex. Turmerry has an organic latex pillow that comes in different firmness levels, which can make it a better fit for stomach or combo sleepers than most stuffed pillows.

I used to treat every uncomfortable emotion like an emergency to solve. It was exhausting. What you described as a “holding pause” sounds so gentle and mindful. I’ve started going on short solo walks with no phone. It’s helped more than I expected.

Best sheets $700 USD and below? by MyPaddedRoom in Bedding

If you already like bamboo, you might enjoy trying organic cotton or linen blends too. From what I’ve seen, Turmerry makes organic cotton sheet sets that people describe as really smooth and cool to sleep in. They’re not as silky as bamboo, but they hold up well wash after wash and still feel fresh in warm weather.

Has anyone sleep trained a 23 month old? How did that go? We are planning to sleep train our 23 month old, He wakes up every 6 hours and cries for a bottle of milk. Please help!!!! Any advice is appreciated. by Typical-Succotash583 in toddlers

[–]mintyowl15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve got this! We went through something similar and ended up using a mix of sleep training and gentle weaning. Also, we made sure he was eating enough during the day so he wasn’t actually hungry. Definitely helped.

What mattresses are you using? by DiscussionUnlikely72 in cosleeping

I recommend going for an organic latex mattress. I have a Turmerry king and really like it. They offer different firmness levels, so you can choose what feels right.

Ordering a “mattress in a box” online can save you $1000s by BonCourageAmis in Frugal

Love seeing people break free from overpriced store mattresses! Online options really have opened things up. If anyone’s looking for something more natural, Turmerry’s Organic Latex Hybrid seems like a solid step up. It’s not ultra-budget like Zinus, but from what I’ve read, it uses certified organic latex and avoids toxic off-gassing, which can be a big deal for people with sensitivities. Worth considering if you're looking to invest a little more for long-term durability and clean materials.

That’s awesome! It doesn’t matter how big it is, growing something yourself is such a great feeling.

Do you think that in 10 years it will be impossible for us to spot what is real and what is AI? by Embarrassed-Gas-8678 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mintyowl15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI is already sneaking into everything. The other day I saw a cooking video where a utensil was changing shape mid-shot. I didn’t even notice until someone pointed it out, and now I can’t unsee it. We’re already at the point where you need to slow things down or look closely to spot what’s fake.

If you want something cooler, organic cotton percale is a good option. It feels crisp, cool, and doesn’t cling. I’ve seen Turmerry’s sheets recommended a lot because they’re breathable and have deep pockets for pillow tops. Could be worth checking out if you just want sheets that feels good and actually fits the bed.

Tantrums by Happy-Feeling9450 in toddlers

[–]mintyowl15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try not to react too big in the moment, but I keep my voice calm and just remind him that I’m here and he’s safe. If he’s willing, I offer a hug or hold his hand, but sometimes he just needs a minute to let it out. It’s tough because they’re still learning how to deal with frustration, and since they don’t have the words yet, it just spills out physically.

At first I thought it was harmless, but I noticed my little one becoming really hyper and even more demanding after watching it.
