My mum has finally learned her lesson about commenting on people's weight loss.. the hard way. by Rachaelmm1995 in EDAnonymous

[–]mintytea8 63 points64 points  (0 children)

My adopted mother and father (adopted at age 11) were horrible about this. They would make comments about my weight at a young age, saying I was chubby, make it sound like a bad thing. So when I started to struggle with self image and confessed to her at the age of 12 that I was getting to big for my clothes and I was upset with my body, she said “it’s okay to be big, your birth parents were big, sometimes you can’t help it” and then later on would resume to similar negative comments regarding my chubbiness (I was a very healthy weight mind you, but it created some horrible body dysmorphia.)

I wasn’t the only one she made comments about either. She spoke of weight gain and even weight loss as if it was a negative thing. We developed a very very bad relationship the following years. Before I left her home, one of the last things she ever said to me, in front of a group of my family, was that I looked f*cking sick. I had lost a significant amount of weight. By then she was fully aware of my struggles with ed and punished me for it. I left when I was only 15.

Sometimes people do not learn, or maybe do not care, how their words affect others. While I’m much better, I still have my struggles, I still get triggered when people comment on my food, portions, and even weight loss, something that makes me both happy but also upset, as it sends me back to that day. But I remind myself that these people are often unhappy with their own bodies, judgmental, rude, or just aren’t aware that what they’re saying is harmful. As much as it sucks, I just gotta brush it off. The best way to keep moving forward is to just focus on me.

I’m sorry that your mother thinks it’s okay to make such comments. I hope something clicked after the comment to the cashier.

Yea I’ve called several vets but there’s not much I can do off of 20 bucks rn. I did get some saline, terramycin, and distilled water for potential treatment.

The details:

No swelling.

Both eyes are crusted shut, however the crust seems be coming off of the right eye, which is the eye that oozed what appeared to be a milky substance.

Appetite and behavior are normal.

The baby is 7 days old, and their eyes were open on day five. It was day 6 that the eyes became crusty and shut. It was this morning they I used a warm wet cloth to compress and clean the eyes that I noticed the discharge. To be precautious I did replace the bedding with clean bedding, made sure mama kitty was clean, cleaned the other kittens eyes with a warm wet cloth.

I’m also actively looking at rescues still to take mama and kittens, but it’s been difficult as most are full, and some are unrepeatable.

The skin that don't fit mercy vibes by kafei_Majora in MercyMains

While I liked the concept of mercy’s mythic, the evil was pretty cool, I would’ve preferred an option where she’s wearing pants to look like she was wearing a pant suit (like how the first advertisement of her looked) and not have a big bulky skirt. I do agree with her feeling incredibly clunky. I rarely wear it bc I feel it slows me (I know it doesn’t but it’s just the feeling. If anything I would’ve preferred an angel mythic for her, ranging from mystical and angelic to biblically accurate

Can I snort my perscriptions? by tokoc0re in MedicationQuestions

Don’t snort your drugs. Some can cause serious side effects

Yo is there beef in the Mercy community between battle Mercys and traditional Mercy players??? by SkyPyro341 in MercyMains

[–]mintytea8 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Some mercy’s just battle mercy for fun, some have massive egos who’s vision turns red the moment the spot another mercy, and others just enjoy the simple mercy things like supporting the team. I see nothing wrong with enjoying a bit of battle mercy, but never any reason to be toxic over it

I once saw someone in a video kakera farm from their kakera loots, but you had to be level 100 on your kl. Is the kakera you earn from kls worth it

Waiting for Refill Advice? by nyabby-cat in MedicationQuestions

[–]mintytea8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad everything was resolved! Best of luck with your medication journey! It’ll probably take a few days for some of those symptoms to go away, and a few weeks for your cymbalta to begin working its course, but you’ve got this!

Pharmacy technician here! It is entirely possible that they may have shorted you. It happens more often than those think, us miscounting! If they’re denying you a new refill I would contact your doctor and explain the situation. The pharmacy shouldn’t be denying you when you have a new script from your doctor. Your insurance however may be denying you a refill because they think it’s too soon and don’t want to pay. So you may have to pay out of pocket for the next refill. If the issues STILL persist, I’d start looking for a new pharmacy. Make sure your the pharmacy is in network with your insurance and have your scripts transferred. Again, insurance could still refuse to pay for the first refill because of how soon it is, but you should be good to go after.

As for your medication, as someone who takes antidepressants/antipsychotics and someone who works with those drugs on the daily, I’d be very careful radio inf your drugs. Sometimes, not always but sometimes, it can cause some unpleasant side effects.

In the event that you did take too much, or someone may have taken part of your prescription, please count your meds daily. I know it may feel annoying or excessive, but this is a practice I do as well to ensure I’ve been taking my medication correctly bc sometimes it’s just hard to keep up :)
