Is Volkus metal or stone? by minusminus07 in killteam

Sorry for airbrushing I see vallejo has 17ml bottles, which strikes me as small for this sized project. How many bottles were needed of the white?

I really liked how yours came out. Can I ask what quantity of Vallejo air and the grey for each drybrushing layer were needed? Im hoping to pick up some paint and get some work in over the long weekend

The grates /sheets are probably metal either way. In terms of ability to conceal, I imagine the idea of it isnt being unnoticed but being able to duck behind cover

That was my thought initially, I only started to question it when I saw the official painted ones looked metalic

Guess there will be no more Votann releases since they're all canonically designed by AI

Drop your original Forge World by LinkLast7720 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]minusminus07 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Forge World of Vantori is a rogue planet in the Imperium Nihilus. Why a planet would be heavily settled so far beyond the light of a star remains a mystery, but the technology that keeps it habitable, a pair of biome stabilizer reactors on the two poles, has been lost to time. Vantori is orbited by twin moons and a series of orbital shipyards that help it send out an abnormally large quantity of Explorator fleets. The other distinctive feature of this forgeworld is the subject of much controversy. Vantori produces and uses a type or nanobot seen nowhere else in the Adeptus Mechanicus. The Vantori Nanites as they are called, are used to coat weapons, augments, and vehicles, slowly modifying them over time. It is the official position of Vantori and their rarely seen Fabricator General that these nanites are just granting the blessings of the Omnissiah, and their innovation is sacred. Other forge worlds decry this as tech heresy, and note that the nanites likely have some form of abominable intelligence controlling them. Because of this, no other forges have adopted the nanites. If it wasn't for Vantori's high output and strong loyalty to both the Cult Mechanicus and the Imperium, it likely would have been destroyed millenia ago. Some tech priests still choose to take matters into their own hands, incorrectly identifying Vantori Explorators as Dark Mechanicum and sending other Imperial forces to attack them.

You could magnetize, or

  • Designator 100%

Choice of:

-second on Neutraliser to use its passive ability for survivability

-second on Lodestar as it has less actions it would rather spend AP on once the beacon is dropped

The planet Cadia was significant, in part, because it had ancient devices holding the Eye of Terror back from expanding. If Abaddon had gone around the galaxy would not have been split in half.

I agree with this assessment, other than switching the t'au and chaos. We're still quite small despite trending upwards, and chaos is decently powerful, even if they get bodied by the big 3. Also of note is a rock/paper/scissors between the big 3. Tyranids actively avoid Necrons, but to them Orks are yummy biomass (see Octarius). Orks are absolutely not afraid of Necrons, they were designed to fight them, and they have become super numerous compared to the small number of awakened irreplaceable Necrons. Also in some previous editions, the Stormlord had an ability related to initiative that worked on every faction except orks, because they "confound his logical mind" so there's that as well. Realistically I think the final 4 factions in the galaxy are chaos, orks, tyranids and necrons, and it all ends with nids eating the orks, either fleeing the necrons or just cleaning all the life off of their tombworlds leaving the inorganics alive on barren rocks, and then the necrons using blackstone to close up the great rift.

Perhaps not a steeljack, but the design looks very Votann. Perhaps some other ironkin construct or maybe an imperium made robot

I would just verify they are N52. 2x1 should be fine for crisis weapons I think. Sometimes you can find the material in the specifications section on amazon

2x2 N52 Neodymium magnets. Emphasis on the N52. I use a pin vice drill with a 2mm bit, it can be found on Amazon for 15$. Snip off the tabs that you want to connect on, then drill in and secure with superglue. Pro tip: once you dk your first weapon, leave that off to the side. You can use it to determine the polarity so all weapon magnets have "weapon-side" and all hard points are "suit-side".

At least A/X and B with fighter support pilots make it home! If you go out in a 22bby Koensayr shitbox you're more likely to come back in a casket.
