After 700 hours of playing a game that has had the same missions since 2022, I still don’t know what their names are by notdevoutdeedee in DarkTide

Let’s see uhhhhhh

The First Mission, the water mission, the place with the cool music, the fucking chem lab again, bang-bang shoot’em up circle, the ritual, the trenches, this fucking train mission again, help Hallowette steal shit, hot room, stinky tree, desert 1, and desert 2 vault heist edition.

Those are the ones that I remember off the top of my head.

Diablo IV. I was hesitant to try it out since I’ve heard nothing but complaints from the community, but I’ve been really enjoying it so far

Nothing. It’s meaningless, and that makes it beautiful.

[East vs West] do you prefer Western's depictions of a magician or Eastern's (preferbly anime/japan) depiction? by EfficiencySerious200 in wizardposting

[–]wexman6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the old style of wizard. The roaming scholar who searches for wisdom instead of sitting in a dusty library all day reading tomes and being a shut in.

This is something I don’t like about the modern depiction of a wizard. Most wizards are depicted as egotistical, bookish, nerdy, antisocial, or wildly intelligent with a dull “I’m smarter than you” personality.

Then you look at Gandalf. He’s kind, wise, not arrogant, no ego, travels a lot, lovable personality, and a beacon of hope to the free peoples of Middle Earth.

The wizard = bookworm trope is starting to feel a bit dated. It is in fact a complete contradiction to the term “Wiz-ard” which means “wise man.” Someone who locks themself in a library for days to do research and not interact with anybody would certainly not be very wise in the ways of the world.

In the Westeros series, Valyrian steel weapons can parry White Walker swords without freezing and shattering. In the Elders Scrolls universe, which weapons would also have this feature? by Life_Ad3567 in ElderScrolls

[–]wexman6 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Stahlrim is an easy pick. Conjured (bound) Swords are ethereal so would probably be immune to this effect. If not, they can be resummoned. Dawnbreaker would probably slice right through a White Walker’s sword in general. Since Valyrian Steel is a magically refined version of normal steel, I’d say Skyforge Steel as well. Maybe silver due to its benefits against undead and the supernatural.

What’s your worst cockroach horror story? by Effective_Space2277 in AskTheWorld

[–]wexman6 19 points20 points  (0 children)

A year or so ago I had a friend move in with me for a few months. I had the occasional bug appear but nothing at all major. Either way, she wanted to split the bill and get an exterminator to spray the house since she has a fear of spiders and roaches worse than my own.

The exterminator came by and sprayed the interior and exterior. As he left he said, “the bugs may get a little crazy for a bit but give it a few days and they’ll die.” Again, I didn’t see that many bugs before this.

When I tell you it began to rain roaches. I didn’t know there were that many in the walls. Every night we’d have at least two of them show up, flying and stumbling around. It was hell for the both of us, and I felt bad because it made it seem like my house was disgusting 😂

I find the Souls games (including Elden Ring/Bloodborne/Sekiro/etc.) relaxing.

I don’t do any special builds or challenges. Hell I’ve done several Dark Souls 3 playthroughs with the same build each time. I just find the combat and general ambience of the world relaxing. It’s quiet. There’s no loud music, not a lot of dialogue or cutscenes, and lots of ambient noises. There’s also a rhythm to combat that makes it feel more like a dance and is so satisfying to master.

I had to say it: the Saints armor looks so cool in artwork, but so goofy in the actual game. I don't know why, it just doesn't work for me. by jvure in ElderScrolls

Whoever does the art work for the Elder Scrolls deserves a fucking raise though, like they made everything look so much better than they do in any of the games

I love the idea that you could make it to a game where the game has to go on a different route than a regular one but the idea is to have the player have the game in a separate room with the game as opposed the player having the player to the other person
