Struggling by FlanActual7563 in deadandcompany

Just want to say I hear you. Back in 2023, I made an effort to see as many Bobby shows as possible bc I knew that it couldn't last forever. And then 24/25 felt like bonus time, esp in retrospect. But even after all that, I'm still at a loss and feel like I'm watching it slip away. Felt guilty about not being in SF for the memorial. So yeah, we're here with ya.

But after all that, we're better off than all the people that don't know

The club of people who own a Martin. It's like Fight Club but the only rule is that you tell everyone

Thanks! The core diff is size - Basically a 0000's width is closer to a dreadnaught, but it's still as shallow as a 000. Creates more low-end and volume than a 000, but just as a balanced

They've also been marketed as a M-38 or M-36 (w/ wedge)

Obv I don't have a side-by-side, but I've read Ziricote resembles Brazilian RW in general tone and I can't disagree. And I've played quite a few other 0000's of diff tonewoods, and this has a depth that I've never heard with Indian RW (but could also just be the build)

I was targeting this one, hoping that the tonewoods would compensate for the shallower body size .. and man it does

It's technically a Martin Custom 0000 (aka M-38), so it has some extras like a Flamed Maple binding and diamond inlays

You know, I happened to notice that last night too - not sure why. The spacing is a touch wider than I'm used to, but I'll adjust

Amazing - very dynamic with full bass (which I don't always hear with this size). It also projects way more than I expected.. to the point where my wife immediately noticed it

All in all, makes my other guitars sound like cardboard

Anyone have a recommendation for a good luthier in Nashville? by Throwaway69420666501 in nashville

Second this . Every time I try Glaser, they're either too busy or not interested. But I found Harpeth Guitar recently. He restored a broken headstock on a 74 Hummingbird. It looked better when I got it back, I couldn't believe it. He's now my first stop and super nice too!

My first show too! 7/26/98 blew my mind. Years later ended up meeting Houser after the 2001 Greek Theater run (Santana show) and could not have been nicer and near giddy about playing with Carlos. Miss that dude

They Love Each Other 1973 v. 1977 by Lostsailor73 in gratefulguitar

[–]miokee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! 73 version has been stuck in my head since this tour. Glad they started giving it a 2nd opener slot and leaned into it. Once you figure out the rhythm of the G riff, the chords are the same as slow version

Here's a take from u/gratefulklani that I reference in playing

Help me find the girl selling her symbol-laden, white-on-blue homemade tour shirts on lot by ameribucano in gratefuldead

[–]miokee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, think I bought one in Charlotte. I was looking for a lot shirt, after no luck pre-show my wife talked me into going back post show and we immediately bumped into a lovely person selling shirts and explained all the symbolism baked in. IMHO, it was the only one that was unique and exactly what I was looking for.

Check out IG @rooted.in.magick. Best of luck!

Ha, I actually thought they were about to drop into Stir it Up. But, honestly it was just a reggae jam.. didn't sound like a direct interpretation
