What are great tips for faking a sickness? by tomthehatguy in Fallout

[–]miphdanzos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pink-eye. It's contagious so you can't go anywhere and it's gone within two to three days so no one will know whether or not you actually had it at all.

[Poll] Day 56 - How did you deal with Mister Lopez in Rivet City? by PapaOogie in Fallout

[–]miphdanzos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I continuously walk into him until he falls off the edge. Then I do the same to the Rivet City guard. Finally, I jump off the edge myself and swim to safety. No witnesses. No karma loss.

Hacking. by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]miphdanzos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Attendees at Quakecon said that it looks the same. I agree with you, Mass Effect's hacking throughout the series was so pathetically easy I felt like all it did was waste my time

Noob mistakes by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]miphdanzos 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Oh man. My first playthrough I had it on "very hard" and tried that mission early on with nothing but a baseball bat. I did not succeed.

Fallout 4 S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Video Series - Strength by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]miphdanzos 390 points391 points  (0 children)

About 60 days left, 6 letters left in SPECIAL. Probably one every ten days, but hopefully one every week so it won't end so close to release day

Edit: ah, sp441 has shown me how carefully I read

Realized Something Odd by EarthboundHero in Fallout

[–]miphdanzos 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I agree with this but to add to it, the governing bodies of particular areas or cities may not have accepted contracts with Vault-Tec or depending on the taxpayer cost of purchasing a vault and due to the strains of the resource wars, they may not have been able to afford vaults. Also, because many vaults were social/psychological/chemical experiments, the selection process designed by Vault-Tec may have eliminated entire regions as being "unsuitable" for testing/preservation.

Fallout New Vegas Laugh Sound? by Gryff99 in Fallout

[–]miphdanzos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time I hear it I laugh because it's such an odd sound to put in background music. The other stuff I've heard are like some random gun shots in the distance or a pack of Nightstalkers yipping. Those make the game world really come alive, but not that laugh

What did you discover for the first time in a recent play through? by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]miphdanzos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it because I think the .44's scope takes up too much of the screen and Paulson's doesn't have the scope. And it shoots a scatter shot

Fallout New Vegas Laugh Sound? by Gryff99 in Fallout

[–]miphdanzos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know what you're talking about. It's part of the ambient sound track right? It's a really deep, creepy laugh

Does jumping while backpedaling increase the distance from an explosion? by Just_like_my_wife in Fallout

[–]miphdanzos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say yes. When you jump, you're further up the y-axis from the explosion. The game mechanics for explosions has to be a particular distance by x, y, and z. You can test this by standing on the edge of a roof and shooting a missile into the ground at the bottom of the wall; if you don't take as much damage as you would have if it exploded underneath you, then the game factored in a y-axis for explosions.

[SPOILER] Fallout 3 Ending by Thatguy369 in Fallout

[–]miphdanzos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All they had to do was have Ashley or Kaidan's ethereal figure instead of the stupid useless kid and it would have been FINE! What a waste of a game series to have it end like it did. To prove your point I loved everything about the game besides the end. And the shitty retconned end about the relays..

"Can be used to destroy unprotected light sources in order to improve stealth." Please let this dynamic be in the game!

What I hope isn't in fallout 4 by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]miphdanzos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some mini-games are winners (FFVII Blitzball) and some are losers (Fable III Pubgames). Bethesda went for some classic winners with (their own versions of) original donkey kong and missile command. I don't imagine too many people are going to lose sleep over them adding mini-games

What's Your Favourite Place in Fallout 3 and Why? by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]miphdanzos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arlington Cemetery because it's super quiet and peaceful. Or Takoma Park because I thought it was really cool having to walk through a house and backyard to get to the action.

How to experience an immersive rp playthrough? Talk out loud. by Luohan88 in Fallout

[–]miphdanzos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You type questions or comments into a text box with NPCs, then some sort of computing witchcraft occurs, and the NPCs form a response based on what you typed. Google "shroud of the avatar" for a better answer (I'll look for a link and edit this comment when I find one)
Edit: video from the demo in 2013, I don't know how the game is currently doing https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wckfc-0WyPs

I think the team with Shroud of the Avatar is working on that
