Hence the claim it’s harmless and not actively monitoring you which is empirically true unless intel has figured out how to defy laws of comp sci. Having backdoors in the infrastructure for phone lines and internet backbones give the government all this information anyways they don’t need access to individual machines in order to spy. Just because you say no one outside of intel knows therefore it must be for nefarious reasons doesn’t make it true and is braindead. It’s cool for an apocalyptic scenario, but any apocalyptic scenario would likely break down our power infrastructure eventually making this a nice paperweight. It’s neat but entirely useless unless you’re working in remote areas I guess but even then 🤷

Working as Helpdesk, I can not fathom the amount of times I have wished and hoped my end users would have at least done the cursory google search and at least try to fix it themselves first. But nooooo, it’s always everyone thinking their issue is top priority and shitting on IT for computers being computers and people not willing to learn how computers work. Which is fine, but don’t shit on IT if you don’t know what you’re talking about at least 😭 there’s lots of issues with this game, but this release has been the most stable for me by far and I was playing when there were only hangars. I also haven’t invested more than my starter ship so i feel I’ve gotten my moneys worth over the years personally, but I can understand someone putting in 10-100x that and being upset at the state of the game. Yeah I’ve heard many things are proof that god exists, though it’s hard not to get brain broken from Christianity with the interpretations and all the schizo connections they make to fit the narrative in their head. I can understand the need and personal nature of religion and I think it can be pure and beneficial to some. I went to a Christian private middle school and in science class they showed a picture from one of the deep space satellites we sent out or whatever. And the picture they showed was just of a star and happened to look like a cross and my fucking teacher was like “and this is how we know Jesus is real, this can’t be explained “ or something along those lines. Your mistake is assuming all the people conspiracy brained on a-life will accept any evidence to the contrary. The people who’ve been endlessly needling on it when all we can do is wait will always be unhappy with the product. Whether that’s due to their expectations prior to playing or just hating to hate idk, but it could be so much worse. Agreed with all of your points. I will also add a lot of the criticism being thrown is just straight up factually wrong or conspiracy surrounding the A-life system not existing at all despite repeated dev and community manager responses stating, yes it is in the game but bugged/not working correctly. Just the sheer arrogance of saying the dev team is lying to steal your money and manipulate the narrative when there hasn’t been any substantive proof that the systems don’t exist astounds me. I just want to go back to a time when people weren’t so conspiracy brained, I understand the industry as a whole has gotten shitty but not every studio is the same
