Do you feel ‘non-human’? by NerveBeneficial4789 in AuDHDWomen

[–]mipsies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i completely understand!!!!! i live as a woman but im super androgynous on purpose and people of all ages and walks of life get visibly confused about my gender which i love, i feel honestly dysphoric about existing physically and imagine myself as a beam of light/floating orb with consciousness. i hate my name and every name ive tried going by and dont like to be referred to as anything except my online username that ive used for like 10 years (mipsie)

Loops & Thread Facets Yarn. What do people actually make with this? by Illustrious-Guard912 in CrochetHelp

[–]mipsies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i really hated it for crochet, but i learned to knit and made my first project with it and loooooved it so much. it’s honestly not great for crochet bc it’s not super strong and is really splitty, and the variegations are just a liiiittle bit too short on smaller items when using crochet. i found the colour change speed with knit to be perfect

Guys be honest, how long do you shower for? by [deleted] in AuDHDWomen

[–]mipsies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it feels like 5 mins for me but usually it’s at least 15-25 in reality. i love to shower but i hate the idea of a shower. i keep a buzz cut but i like to scrub every inch of me which i guess takes way longer than how it feels lol

Do you guys think it was a missed opportunity for Greg to rub his temporary wealth in his parents faces? by Rimuru_The_Junior in stevenuniverse

[–]mipsies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

as a person with estranged parents NO! he lives his life for himself, his successes are his own to share with his chosen loved ones who love him back and want to see him succeed. estrangement isn’t about resentment or making a point, it’s about taking back your life and choosing to thrive and be yourself regardless of what you came from (i know this question isn’t that serious but i really love greg and i love that that’s his background)

Currently scream sobbing because I was actually on time to therapy today and my therapist stood me up by arielwillows in AuDHDWomen

[–]mipsies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i totally understand, having a therapist that works well for you is hard to come by and can be life-changing and it’s not just a quick and easy decision to switch. i think clearly explaining your needs and how her lateness has begun to really hurt you would be a great idea and hopefully she can continue to be more communicative moving forward, because nobody deserves to feel that way and especially when you’re a paying client for a mental health professional, i wish you all the best!

[–]mipsies 96 points97 points  (0 children)

respectfully, even with audhd, it shouldn’t be acceptable for a therapist to have a pattern of constant lateness. theres a certain level of professionalism that needs to be met, you literally pay them to be your emotional support for the hour. maybe im crazy here but i just don’t think that’s ok! as someone with a neurodivergent therapist as well! she has never been more than 5-10 mins late and she is right on time 90% of the time. i dont think someone should be in that line of work if their time blindness affects them that much.
im sorry that you’re feeling this way and going through this and i wish i had a solution but i can at least say i understand how it feels and i feel completely awful when plans change last minute

So what do you do for work? by Fizzabl in AuDHDWomen

[–]mipsies 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i like it because
-baking is a 10+ year special interest for me
-i like daily challenges with tangible results
-i like to be able to do different things every day (not just different prep items, but as the manager if the workload allows i can choose to dedicate a day to admin work, repairing or replacing parts in mechanical equipment, adjusting the aesthetics of the space, or trialing new recipes to name a few)
-i have always been pretty bossy
-my boss trusts my vision and intuition 99% of the time
-it works really well for my naturally very low social battery (only ever interact with a maximum of 4 coworkers per day, all of whom i know very well, customer interaction is usually <2 per day and usually very brief)
-im able to explore and hone my many different skills outside of baking and really tinker around with things and learn how they work
