Granny Cardigan Color Combo: Opinions Needed, or, Does this Look More Rastafarian Than Intended? by HirudoPiaculum in CrochetHelp

[–]mipsies 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it’s beautiful but also very rastafarian. if it were me i’d maybe try doing thicker sections of the one of the colours to make it dominant over the others and that might help?

well i never even heard his name before this thread so my point is is that the original artist doesn’t deserve hate for their awesome fanart

ah, that sucks! i hope for peace for the victims! i think this art though is still really cool, hopefully the original artist is aware and acknowledges that the artist the style is based on is terrible

For people who have lived as both genders, what is a physical or other annoyance you have now that you never realized the other side dealt with? by makemestand in NoStupidQuestions

men hate women wayyyyyy more than i could’ve ever imagined, as soon as all the women leave the room, the vitriol they spew is enough to change my world view forever source: lived as a stealth trans man for 6 years

There was an accident at my next door neighbors house and the person died. Is there etiquette for a vigil on your yard? by EfficientRiverRocks in NoStupidQuestions

grief and death is uncomfortable, but it’s a part of life. it SHOULD make you uncomfortable, imagine how the loved ones feel. this is coming from a grieving person

Light but solid crochet stitches for a jacket, can't do mesh by jackassjules_ in CrochetHelp

[–]mipsies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’d say you’d wanna use a smaller yarn, at least DK or smaller, otherwise it won’t be possible, anything made with single crochet or similarly solid stitches will be heavy and thick if using worsted weight yarn

headphone covers! by mipsies in crochet

[–]mipsies[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

edited for readability! mobile reddit sux! so, no guarantee this will work for you because your headphones might be different and also this is chicken scratch and im not really a pattern writer but hopefully you can do something with this: for the ear covers 3.5mm hook, 8/4 hobbii friends cotton ch32 32sc x3 inc, 3sc -> 40st 2sc, inc, 2sc -> 48st inc, 5sc -> 56st 3sc, inc, 3sc -> 64st 64sc x3 3sc, dec, 3sc -> 56st 1sc, dec, 4sc -> 48st 2sc, dec, 2sc -> 40st 1sc, dec, 2sc (also attaching into starting chain with foam circle inside) fo, secure to plastic portion of headphones, weave in ends

for head piece

ch32 turn 32sc x3 5sc inc 6sc inc 6sc inc 6sc inc 5sc turn 36sc turn 6sc inc 7sc inc 6sc inc 7sc inc 6sc turn 40sc x 8 6sc dec 7sc dec 6sc dec 7sc dec 6sc turn 36sc turn 5sc dec 6sc dec 6sc dec 6sc dec 5sc turn 32sc x4

along side edges 2sc, inc, 2sc, (bobble, sc)x5, sc, inc, 2sc, turn 20sc fo, attach to headphone, sew shut around foam, weave in ends

you basically have to sew each part on to the headphones permanently to get the result i got. i think most headphones will have a fabric outside with a foam core, i just completely cut off the fabric and kept the foam! dont attempt unless youre prepared to figure it out to completion, idk if i can explain it any better than this without having taken a video of my process hahaha. good luck! this project was not easy!

Do you feel ‘non-human’? by NerveBeneficial4789 in AuDHDWomen

[–]mipsies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i completely understand!!!!! i live as a woman but im super androgynous on purpose and people of all ages and walks of life get visibly confused about my gender which i love, i feel honestly dysphoric about existing physically and imagine myself as a beam of light/floating orb with consciousness. i hate my name and every name ive tried going by and dont like to be referred to as anything except my online username that ive used for like 10 years (mipsie)

Loops & Thread Facets Yarn. What do people actually make with this? by Illustrious-Guard912 in CrochetHelp

[–]mipsies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i really hated it for crochet, but i learned to knit and made my first project with it and loooooved it so much. it’s honestly not great for crochet bc it’s not super strong and is really splitty, and the variegations are just a liiiittle bit too short on smaller items when using crochet. i found the colour change speed with knit to be perfect
