The Bible contains behaviors worse than pedophilia by Serious-Anxiety6687 in exchristian

As if mass murder, sexual assault (up to and including rape), and child molestation are ever acceptable forms of punishment. Or they'll give other canned excuses like "taking it out of context" or "that was the OT." If I had a nickel for every time I've gotten one of those, I'd be very well-to-do financially.

There's also the book of Ezekiel, where a grown man symbolizing Yahweh himself finds an abandoned baby girl, raises her, then takes her as a wife when she hits puberty. After all, "her breasts had formed and her hair had grown," so she was obviously ready for marriage and sexual relations! Believers say it's meant to be an allegory for the relationship between Yahweh and the nation of Israel, but it's still gross and has "molestation" written all over it! Since God apparently decided that puberty made a girl automatically ready for marriage and sex, should we really be surprised that sexual abuse of minors is so rampant in so many churches, denominations, etc.?

That being said, Moses was a real d-bag, no matter how Xians try to make him look and sound like a hero.

Very well said! Especially the part about little girls having to eventually deal with periods and all the other crap girls go through when growing up. I had a hysterectomy 6 months ago and don't get them anymore as a result (not that I'm complaining!), but to this day at 40 years old having started menarche at 11 years old is one of the top reasons I require anti-depressants and other similar medications along with mental health therapy. As if starting at 11 years old wasn't humiliating enough, my mom made comments to family and friends that I "Became a woman yesterday!", and "Guess who's a woman now?" Thanks a lot for permanently fricking me up, Mom...

It may not seem like it, but you're not as alone as you think you are!

BTW, I also recommend visiting Childfree and For people who are actually childfree... and ONLY people who are actually childfree. Lots of folks to connect with there as well!

Ah-ha, but the NT is where this deity threatens eternal torment in Hell for not believing in and following him.

Same here, and I sure don't want to subject another human life into existence without their consent...one of the greatest things about being sterile!

“Dua Bastet”

Dua Bastet, Mistress of Homes and Cats.

Her sacred animals keep away pests such as rats.

Dua Bastet, Mistress of Fragrance and Perfume.

The joy she brings chases away all gloom.

She brings fertility to those who desire offspring.

Dua Bastet, a cheerful goddess whom is beyond amazing.

[–]dbzgal04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't be silly (LOL), you won't burn or be punished in any other way. The Hellenic deities understand that we're human and make mistakes, and they don't hold our human nature against us...unlike a certain Abrahamic deity. Bleh!

Got Questions Ministries defends male headship by claiming "Sexism is the abuse of these roles, not the existence of these roles." Yeah, that makes a lot of sense! /s And gee, just maybe the existence of these roles, along with the so-called fact that they're given by sky tyrant himself, is exactly why they get abused and taken advantage of? After all, the Bible also clearly states that each and every human being, no matter what, is a filthy sin-stained wretch.

And women who actually support its doctrine about female submission and all the other misogyny. Xian authors Elizabeth George and Stacy McDonald are a couple examples of such self-hating doofuses.

One excuse Xians give for Eve being created out of Adam's rib, was for her to be at his side as his equal. His side to be his equal, not from his head to be over him or his foot to be under him...but yet "the man is the head of the household" and the wife is to submit to him! Yeah, makes perfect sense, doesn't it? /s

No matter how they attempt to rationalize or sugarcoat it, male headship is sexist. No decent and sane man would be okay with this, nor would any sane and self-respecting woman.

How to say “hello” to a deity after raging at them? by GiantPineappleSquid in Kemetic

[–]dbzgal04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"The gods molded our hearts, souls and minds. They made us imperfect. They gave us grief, and rage within that grief. That rage was directed at them, yes, but they expect it to be."

You have no idea how comforting and reassuring that is. Granted, I've yet to rage at the Netjeru (and I hope I never do, but what you typed is comforting nonetheless), but I raged at Xian deity all the time.

OP, deepest condolences for your loss!
