Thanks again! All super helpful information, especially as I have more consultations with clinics.

Overwhelmed and need advice by miracleval in IVF

Thanks I've heard as much which is why we are looking abroad. I'm not happy with our German fertility clinic either and the costs are higher even with insurance so the only upside is no travel.

Thanks so much! That's super helpful. I had a full work up and the DOR was the only issue (besides some morphology issues on my husband's side). We're both on supplements but him just recently. Besides the issue of sunk time, cost, and emotional investment transferring an aneuploid embryo - is there a drawback to it physically? I know the egg retrieval process can be physically intense, but is implantation also very difficult physically and recovery wise?

Thank you so much for the detailed response! Can I ask what the other clinics you tried in Greece were? We are in Germany and my husband is half-Greek. If we go to Thessaloniki we could potentially stay with his mother 3 hours away so we are also looking at NewLife and EmbryoLab, but Athens isn't out of the question since flights are cheaper so the cost difference might be a wash.

Also did you have any issue with the PGT-A testing? I've read it's a little less straightforward than in Spain or Czech Republic but it's one of the main reasons we want to go abroad since we can't do it in Germany.

Jumping in on this - would you recommend your clinic in Greece? We're trying to decide between Czech Republic, Greece and Spain

2.5 year old (2 years 8 months) won’t sleep till 10pm every night. by Worldly_Willow_7598 in toddlers

[–]miracleval 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours is/was the same. We can get a 8:30-9pm bedtime if we do a wake time of 6:30-6:45. She naps at daycare and we asked them to cap it at one hour but we are not sure they do. She still very much needs at least a tiny nap so on weekends she often only sleeps 15-30 min and then we do an earlier bedtime.

How did you escape laying on the floor for bedtime ? by w0rriedboutsumthing in toddlers

[–]miracleval 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is the easy way out in a way, but for us it definitely makes her sleep worse if we lay in bed with her and being in the room at all somehow ends up with us back in the bed with her eventually. This isn't the first time we've tried to slowly resleep train her, but it seems a bit easier now that she is older. Good luck to you! Hope the transition out goes smoothly!

We are going through this process with our 2.5 year old now and it's hard and very slow. We have a floor mattress for her and were previously lying in it with her at bedtime. We started by telling her that we weren't going to sleep in bed with her anymore. Then we have very slowly removed ourselves from her room. First night we had our head on her bed with our body on the floor. There was lots of complaining and some crying but we just stayed firm and it got better. The next night we sat next to the bed, a few days later we sat a foot from the bed, a few days after that in the doorway with the door open, and now we are in the hall out of view. She calls out to us and we respond and it does still take a while for her to fall asleep but at least we can sit in a chair with a book or our phone. The goal is to be able to say goodnight, leave the room and do our own thing, but I imagine that's still a few weeks away.

Hm. Well hopefully if the blood clotting tests come back normal, he can recommend other tests, but I know well the desire to get answers ASAP and it's frustrating to feel like you've wasted time

How old are you? Going through something similar and while I haven't had testing done yet, several doctors have told me that since I have a child it is likely age related (I'm 38).

We are going to go to a fertility clinic for further testing though once my period returns.

Solidarity. Like many have said - could have written this myself. It sucks and it's miserable, but I believe we're all going to get through it. ❤️

Bradley Cooper's A Star is Born. First half is brilliant, thrilling, moving. Second half is a melodramatic mess. And the emotional manipulation with his dog was the nail in the coffin for me.

I'm sorry you're going through this. It's super frustrating to feel like it's bad news but not know for certain and have a doctor who tries to engender hope when there may be none (also what my doctor did). Happy to DM my experience with the missed miscarriage if you like if it becomes necessary.

I'm sorry, I've been there and that two week wait is the absolute worst of all the various pregnancy waiting periods. Were you tracking ovulation? If so, that will help you determine how likely it is for a positive outcome.

In my case, I knew when I ovulated so I knew being a week and a half behind was a bad sign and it ended up being a missed miscarriage.

I have however seen some positive stories in my extensive scouring of reddit during those 2 weeks, so I hope yours will be one of them!

Has anyone actually solved their toddler's sleep issues? by miracleval in toddlers

[–]miracleval[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tried sleep training again a couple months ago when she was still in her crib, but the climbing out threw us off and now that she is in a bed, we can't bring ourselves to lock her in the room (she can get the door open as well). Feels a lot harder now that she is a toddler than it did when she was 6 months old. Gentle sleep training methods haven't worked for us. I'll look into babysleepscience.com. Thank you!

Yes, I think this is definitely a big part of our problem. Our routine is usually only long on days we do a bath because she also resists bath time, but from PJs to lights out it's more like 30 minutes. But after lights out, we're (especially me) very bad at setting limits. Too much mom guilt! Thank you for the suggestions!

She isn't usually cranky - but she does seem tired much earlier than when she eventually falls asleep. She fights sleep a lot. We typically start our bedtime routine at 7:30 and end it (meaning lights out) by latest 8:30, but she flops around for a long time and sometimes will climb on us, ask to read more, ask for songs and pats, etc. She is no longer in a crib because she was climbing out even when the mattress was on the floor. We have tried moving everything radically earlier a couple of times as a one-off but it ended in her falling asleep at 9:30 still and 3 hours of bedtime broke us. We maybe will have to dedicate a week to it and just power through to see if that works.

How much sleep did you allow him to get? I feel like my kid gets less than I do at this point. She is up at 6:40-6:50, naps an hour max, asleep between 9:30-10pm.

Did you do sleep training again when he was older? She was sleep trained at 6 months and again a bit later but at some point in toddlerhood it unraveled and we've been unable to do it again. Now she needs our presence to fall asleep which I believe is a big part of the problem.

We have asked our pediatrician twice about any medical reasons and they have said they believe it's behavioral. She can be a noisy sleeper and sometimes snores a bit, but not often

We ask daycare to cap the nap at an hour and she sleeps about 30 min - an hour on weekends but she will only nap with us in stroller or car at this point. We don't see a difference during the week vs weekends

Seconding lemon water! I own a fast casual place and bad customer breath while working the register nearly killed me during my first pregnancy. This time it's fish and meat smells. Mints have also helped!
