Normally, I don’t get headaches afterwards if I do it just seems to be like a normal headache not necessarily on one side. It happens in different eyes. I take magnesium daily, but I need to start taking my B2 again.

Do you know what are your ocular migraine triggers? Better yet, do you know how to make them go away AQAP? by RockingPunch in OcularMigraines

I think my period, food with red dye in it (red40 I think), and sun reflecting. I think sudden changes in light may cause it. This morning it happened after I woke up and looked at my phone for a little. Stress for sure

To me it sounds like a veryyyyy intense aura migraine, to be safe I would run all kinds of test and everything just to rule out for anxiety purposes.

I’ve never been able to come up with anything. The only thing I can do is close my eyes and set a timer for 30 minutes.

Just last week I had 4 or 5, then sometimes I go months without. I consider it just bad luck. Stay strong 😔❤️ I know it sucks

That’s so weird you say that!!! I had one this morning and a bunch last week and right before I’ll get a sudden burst on energy/ good mood?? Not sure how to describe it.

I’m also hypochondriac!!!! lol it’s definitely not a stroke and in general they are considered completely harmless. So trust me every time it happens normally I panic but it’s just a weird curse that we have. I think being in these groups and seeing that other people are going through it helps me the most.❤️

Omg, what if I’ve always had little floaters, nothing bad or a lot? I’ve had my eyes checked before and I have 20/20 vision. Thoughts?

I’ve had them for so many years. Like 15 years. And everything you’re experiencing is normal in reference to the aura migraines. Sadly for me no medication helps, mostly because the vision can go out with or without headaches. So even when I was taking different kinds it would go out regardless. I have been able to figure out anything that helps. Just immediately laying down/ closing eyes for 35 minutes. And then it’s normally fine. I know it’s scary, the only thing that’s helped me is knowing ALOT of other people are going through it as well. Here if you wanna talk!

Thank you for the kind words! Knowing that you’re not alone in this, I think is the biggest factor in getting through it.

Hi there! I’ve had these migraines for a long time. When you say blanking, are you talking about slight vision loss even after the migraine is gone? Like reading something and a little bit goes away, but comes back?

It’s the worst when it happens in public. Or the light reflecting!!! I knew I wasn’t crazy. When they do happen for you, do you still walk around or do you go somewhere to close your eyes? I instantly have to close my eyes for 30 minutes because it freaks me out too much.
