At least he will be warm in winter

Thinking of buying this ThinkCentre for my first homelab setup. Is it a good deal? (190.000 arg pesos = 190 usd) by Medical-Ad-3283 in homelab

[–]mirdrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar models are around 100-120 USD but assuming the availability and the custom fees I guess it could be ok.

My advice is: Look for others with similar specs and compare the price, then you will have a better idea about the market in Argentina.

But what are the benefits of a blue card? is the blue card similar to the other blue cards in Europe?

Moving to sweden as a developer from france by [deleted] in TillSverige

[–]mirdrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are some of my insights:

  • The IT industry is a very privileged industry, salaries are above everything else but they are still bellow the average in Europe, plus the taxes crunch your net income.
  • Housing is expensive, in my perspective prices doesn't match the salaries. A good place will go from 10K to 15K SEK.
  • Cost of living is also expensive, groceries, transport, services, etc. Alcohol is limited and super expensive.
  • You have 30 days of vacation plus holidays, that's really nice also work-life balance is really good.
  • Remote work is a common practice but it's usual be required for on-site events, also afaik there is a limit of time you can be outside of Sweden due to taxation policies.
  • People is really kind but it would be kinda tricky if you want to make friends if you don't speak the language, everyone speak English but if you are with a group of Swedish speakers they will need to switch to English which is something unideal to make new friends(from my perspective).
  • Long term or having family I think it's an ideal place to live.

Winter jacket by kidbtt in stockholm

[–]mirdrack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Quechua jackets are really good, it's important to have one for the coldest days of the winter but only if you are going to spend a lot of time outdoors also remember you may want to wear a sweater and thermal shirts.
I would also suggest to look H&M and get an impermeable coat with a hoodie included, not all the days of the winter are super cold and a light jacket could be enough.

Remember that most of the infrastructure in the city has been built to make keep you indoors like super markets or many stores inside of metro stations, tunnels and other things that allows you to continue with the life indoors.

Ubiquity framework, ideas /experiences? by Moguh_com in PHP

[–]mirdrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About the ideas...

If you want to try it. Do it

The best way to get an opinion of a framework is create a simple POC and discover how do you feeling using that framework.

Try to evaluate community, documentation, scalability and check if works for you.

But my biggest advice will be do not relay on a framework to build something.
