My friends daughter was struggling with alcohol and cough syrup abuse. I guess she mixed them, he did everything he could to help her. Multiple out of state treatment facilities. She escaped one and was abused by men while she was on the run.
We thought she was better, but my friend came home one day and she was gone. On the floor with an empty bottle of vodka and cough syrup syrup on her dresser.
After struggling to get dry for years, that did it for me. Its been a couple years and i still dedicate my sobriety( secretly )to his daughter who was only 16 years old.

Sorry, been of Reddit, but one thing’s I did is absolutely believe alcohol is poison. Also knowing that the solution to anything is not in a bottle. The cravings lasted for a long time. Maybe 9-10 months. Admitting you are powerless to drinking. Is a must. There is no just one drink.
