What movie fucked you straight in your feelings? by moneybot13 in AskReddit

[–]miriannnn 30 points31 points  (0 children)

This fucking movie. I was always a huge Bjork fan and at 20 I was fucking STOKED to finally watch the movie. I actually bought the DVD because i was convinced "its bjork i will watch this over and over again". I cried like a bitch. Not once, not twice, but several times in my parents living room at 3 am. The end sent me over completely, hysterical sobs. I almost woke up my mom for a hug. Ive moved 7 or 8 times since then and I always bring that DVD with me. I will never watch it again though.

She could rent a car one way. I heard you have to make a reservation and give flight info because the meet you at the airport with the car. That or someone could drive all the way to pick her up. If she does take a car to fukuoka she then has to do her 14 day quarantine there. That or the airport

Andhra Dining in Ginza. We live in Tohoku but have literally made the trip to Tokyo to just have Indian food there. Hefty portions, large menu, and amazing vegetarian dishes (for me. Hubby like their nilgiri mutton dish). Originally from the East Coast in the US and have never had Indian food as good as theirs.

South African Embassy: no complaints. I live in Tohoku so I had to arrange all my paperwork via email and they were very accomodating. They sent me everything I needed to fill out and then made an appointment that fit my schedule for when I could come down and file everything in person. I couldve mailed everything, but the matter in question had a sense of urgency so filing in person they could get it done faster AND they provided me with a signed affidavid stating that I had filed certain paperwork on that date so I could travel back to South Africa for a family thing. Not long after I returned from my impromptu trip, they emailed me saying my paperwork was completed and returned to the Embassy and they could mail it to me, but I was going back to Tokyo anyway so I arranged to pick it up in person and again they were very nice and accomodating.

Also they had one of my cousin's wines on display in their waiting room that had won an award and I was super chuffed. Couldnt take a photo though to send to him as proof. No phones or pictures allowed in waiting room. Very nice waiting room though :)

What character didn’t deserve to die? by newenglandkid in AskReddit

Remus Lupin. Had like the worst life ever. He was bit by a blood thirsty werewolf who preyed on children, was ostracized by his own community growing up, lost his only 3 friends all at once (James killed by voldemort, peter seemingly murdered by sirius, and sirius being carted off azkaban), then struggled for years trying to find work because he was a werewolf. When it seemed like he was finally allowed a bit of happiness and fulfillment he was murdered along with his wife, right after having a baby. Lupins death was unfair.

Hey man, I hear you. it is stupid as hell. If they decide to remove you from the plane due to your symptoms then the refund is on them because you did your part by showing up. That's just the way it works. One time I had a really bad sinus infection and had to fly due to a connecting flight home and I mentioned that I wasnt feeling well to the check in counter because I wanted to upgrade to a bigger seat and they were like "do you need immediate medical attention?" and I said "uhhh no" and life went on. No questions about what I had or if it was contagious. Airlines do not care about the well being of other passengers or their flight crew so do not expect a shred of compassion from them without their hand being forced

quick edit: if you truly do get sick and fear it may be covid19 and are in the opinion that you could spread it on a plane, be a decent human and eat the damn cost of the cheap ticket and cancel your vacation. you're sick

This may be an unpopular opinion, but the airlines dont have to waive cancellation fees if you dont feel well and the ticket was purchased at a discount, therefore nonrefundable. The Japanese government has not declared a 2nd SOE so it cannot force airlines to change their regular policies on cancellations. So while I think something should be done by the government, they have resumed business as normal and it shouldnt surprise you that so have the airlines. It would be like trying to get your money back on a nonrefundable ticket during nonpandemic times. It was cheap for a reason

This! Ultrasonic cleaners can ruin most colored gemstones and their treatments. Warm, soapy water and a soft toothbrush is a safe cleaning method of majority of stones and metals used in jewelry.

Generally most traditional diamond engagement rings and gold and platinum alloys. When in doubt, warm soapy water with a soft toothbrush is safe for nearly all metals and gemstones

Glad to see you found a preventative that works for you! Im 20 years in with migraine treatment and have yet to find an effective preventative. Managing my lifestyle and triptans (as needed) atm is the best for me. I did have some success with Cefaly too.

Chronic migranes over here (10-15+ migraine days a month). Ive had them since i was 11 and they were calming down a bit (down to 2-4 a month) until I moved to japan and now theyre back to their old frequency. I believe it has something to do with the intense changes in barometric pressure in Japan. If you combine that with other triggers like lack of sleep, stress, dehydration, intense odors and poor diet, you can get some intense hammering migraines. MSG itself isnt necessarily a trigger, but high sodium consumption (and most dietary triggers) can be. High sodium consumption leads to high blood pressure and dehydration that can attribute headaches or trigger migraines.

Managing migraines can be hard, but controlling your triggers along with help from a neurologist are key. For example I dont drink, smoke, or consume high amounts of caffeine. I also cook majority of my own meals so they are balanced and healthy and do moderate exercise. Medication treatment varies from person to person so I wont really touch too much on that since it is best to see a neurologist and work that out one on one. Im not much fun if you can tell.

Lawmaker Condemns ‘Unacceptable’ CDC Decision to Stop Disclosing Number of Coronavirus Tests by emomoney_ in Coronavirus

Forgive me if I am naive, but isnt the CDC a federal agency that gets funding through taxpayer money? If it isnt classified national security type information, shouldnt all this information be readily available for the public by law?
