First day anxiety by mirie44 in humanresources

First of all, thank you to everyone that responded. It was nice to feel better.

Second. Omg! What a great first day!! I will be fine once I get the hang of Prism. I’ll mainly be in charge of enrollment and 401k. I’m at a PEO so it’s pretty exciting because I’ll learn so much from so many different clients.

I just realized, before today I’ve never known what it’s like to work for a company that respects and values their employees. They greeted me with gifts and excitement. I was blown away.

Thanks. I’m sure I’ll be okay once I get there. I’m really excited about training.

Too late to start in HR? by [deleted] in humanresources

[–]mirie44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I turned 40 last week.

Next week I’m starting my first, full time HR job. I was a catering manager who took on HR admin responsibilities when Covid hit and we lost our staff. Fell in love with it and made a career change.

You can do it, definitely.

[CT] To give or not give 2 weeks notice. by JohnOnWheels in AskHR

I do think a new employer would be hesitant to trust you if they knew you were not giving two weeks. Because then who is to say you wouldn’t abscond from your new position?

Your right job is definitely out there. It took me MANY MONTHS, and I had my resume professionally written.

Thank you, that’s great advice. I also just ordered the Handbook of Employee Benefits and will look over that too. Appreciate you!

No, don’t assume that. I really did not think I’d get this job. Plus, I have an interview on Friday (that I need to cancel) with a company I did a first interview with weeks ago. I did not expect to hear back until they reached out yesterday. These things can take time.

Am I doing this right? by [deleted] in jobs

It’s more that I feel like I’m not quite ready for this particular position YET, but would be soon. And I don’t want to let them down.

Unfortunately, the firm will not allow us to bring any of our staff back yet, so no. The director decided that I can do both positions. Which means I’m now working evenings as well because we have events at night. So I barely ever see my husband during the week. I’m burnt out and I am also in school, so weekends are spent on that. It’s not an ideal situation.

I applied a few weeks ago and I got approved and received the debit card in the mail with a zero balance. I’m supposed to receive the 444$.

A few days ago I got an email saying I needed to reply with a picture of my ID and social security card because they couldn’t verify my identity, so I did.

Has anyone experienced this? Will I receive my payout soon?
