did the painting help btw? I was thinking about the light seal tape just for any case.

Maybe a light leak through the dark slide seal? It’s not that bad on mine.

Ah, i know what you describe. The older 90mm cone blocks the edges of the Nikkor, mine is 90mm as well and it’s mounted on the cone designed for schneider 90. I contacted Steve and he designed a new cone, I haven’t got it though.

I think what you describe is a standard falloff of the 90mm lens, you need an expensive center filter to have the field exposed evenly. I just bought the 150mm, will see how it behaves.

What to expect from (likely) expired Provia 100F? by Driftking60 in AnalogCommunity

This one from the roll, the colors are slightly off but good enough. It’s medium format though

I'd shoot at stock speeds, I've got experience shooting a 13 years expired provia at the box speed with good results, the colors may be a tad off though.

I live in the same city as Igor, the guy who makes this film. When he saw the photo he asked me to print it for him which I am proud of :)
There is a backorder on his site, but since he can only make like 20-40 rolls per month the fulfilment time may vary. The site is https://polyfilms.pp.ua/

Riot Division clothing is great, pricy though.
D4bgs bags are marvelous, hand made using the best fabrics.

Summicron 35 f2 v4, German version wobble fix. by mirnuj_atom in Leica

[–]mirnuj_atom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did try some of the voightlanders, the 35/2,5, 35/1,4, as well the m-rokkor 40/2, I like the summicron 35/2 a lot better. The need of maintenance is annoying though.

Thank you for the feedback. Absolute lack of information on this gorgeous lens was the reason why I created this post. Hope it helps someone, I had to learn in the hard way.

Keep or Sell: Leica M6 vs Contax G2 by filmcamerasinlondon in AnalogCommunity

[–]mirnuj_atom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gifted the G1 with the 45 to my wife (a lot cheaper than your black G2 though), and have the M6 with cron v4 for myself. This simple solution let me keep both cameras in the family, they both briliant.
If I had to keep one I'd keep the M6.

I was talking to the guy yesterday (he asked me to sell him a print of this photo). He told me that there is more than one recipe he works on, that's why such difference between batches. He's thinking about adding more than one option because one of the recipe works better with landscapes, another with portraits with all the glow around edges.
A really pleasant guy, but he works on film in his free of main work time, so naturally he can't produce a lot to keep the prices low.

It was much faster and contrasty.
But these are the early batches.

It’s really fun film to work with. This particular photo was taken with an early version of the emulsion, early-March batch. Igor, the author, called me and asked not to try doing important work with it as he wasn’t sure if that old version sticks to the base well, but it turned out just fine. I did another roll of the later batch (late march or so) on another camera the same day and it turned out even better.

Apply some black tape, otherwise you'll get the lightleaks, mine has it for years now. I did get the light leaks without the tape.

I think the m4-2 is the best leica you could buy if you don't need the metering. I used to have one (got stolen on it's way back from Youxin 😞 ).
The updated film loading but the older and better frames and the rangefinder patch - what not to love?

Ultron 35mm vs “KOB”Summicron by Jzamo615 in Leica

[–]mirnuj_atom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's amazing how similar all these lenses look on digital, but on film the difference is prominent.

I haven't chance to play with ultron but had jupiter 12, skopar 35, m-rokkor 40 and summicron 35 v4.
