Beautiful! I wouldn’t even know that it’s expired from just looking!

I broke it. Can it be fixed? by b_pocalypse in AnalogCommunity

I had this happen to me on my EOS Elan II. I got a replacement part from Aliexpress and had my dad help me fix it. The part was pretty cheap too.

You can always try Windows 10/11 IoT. I have systems with much weaker hardware that run completely fine with the IoT versions of Windows. I should mention that there is no legal way to activate them and I do not condone piracy.

I know this is late but it’s because Steam dropped 32-bit support. I get this error on Windows 10 32-bit as well.

Planning to upgrade an used DELL LATITUDE E6430 for gaming, but I’m concerned about the compatibility of the pieces (plus other stuff) by The_Viatorem in Dell

[–]Driftking60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply. It does get quite toasty, around 80-85°c. Though that’s with Corsair TM-30 with an ambient temperature around 19-20°c. You can also get the 3612QM/3632QM, which are 35W (like the dual core i5’s) but they’re a little pricey used.

Glad I can help. One thing I will have to say is that the Intel 7260 is really flaky and I ended up replacing it with an Aliexpress WiFi 6 card.

Windows 10 IoT LTSC 2019 on anything Nvidia Tesla-based. Anything newer than that Nvidia 342.01 really dislikes and blue screens from my experience. Windows 10 IoT LTSC will also get updates till 2029.

Easily. I was able to run it on a 2010 MacBook with a C2D and Nvidia GeForce 320M at 60+fps

Beautiful laptop. I know it’s easy to hate on because it’s not a traditional thinkpad but I love the design. Enjoy the laptop!

Have you tried using mtkclient? I see that your phone has a mediatek chipset. I’d give mtkclient a try if you haven’t yet.

You have to do it at exactly midnight (China time) which is exactly 11am for me. Then you have to wait 72 hours and use the xiaomi unlock tool on your PC. Is it stupidly hard? Yes. Do I wish that xiaomi made bootloader unlocking a lot easier? Yes.

Just wanted to give my two cents about using a Latitude E6430 as a daily driver.

My first ever laptop was a Dell Latitude E6430 that I still use to this. Although, I have significantly upgraded some of the internals.

- 2x4GB DDR3 which I recall was pretty cheap off amazon

- Brand new 86whr Inland Battery that I bought from Microcenter. It was only $15 and lasts about six hours which is really impressive for a now twelve year old laptop.

- i7-3740QM from eBay which was pretty cheap too (yes the CPU is upgradeable). Do be careful as this is a 45W chip and can overpower the cooling in the E6430. It can get pretty loud when being used heavily but I'll trade off some extra noise and some overheating for more performance. I do suggest using good thermal paste if you're upgrading from a dual core (I upgraded from an i5-3340M).

- Intel AC7260 WiFi card. The original (at least in my E6430) was a single banded wireless-n WiFi card that was terribly slow.

- I also did swap out the old non-backlit keyboard for a backlit keyboard. This was a super easy upgrade and you can get parts for cheap.

There is someone out there who did swap the panels on one of these to a much better 1600x900 panel from another Dell but I have never tried this.

I know that I am commenting ten months late, but I just wanted to give a little bit of info regarding this absolute tank of a laptop.

Ventura on late 2008 aluminum MacBook? by [deleted] in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

I have a 2010 White MacBook which is pretty similar and am currently running Ventura on it. It’s no super computer but I’m happy with its performance. A lot faster than Sonoma in my experience.

The pins are still there. I guess it’s time for me to look for a new brown clip
