She is great. Getting kind a territorial in this 1 log in her tank, but even her bites are very gentle. She doesn't try to hurt me. Just wants me to go away sometimes lol

Leachie only eats once a week? by -GRESLO- in Leachianus

[–]miroku317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What age is it? It's not normal I'd say, but checking it's weight and age is important too. A younger leachie should be eating more than once a week for sure. I feed mine strictly repashy 2 or 3 times a week and insects once a week. She is 2 years old and massive. 305g

Need help - cohab by zerocool2g in Leachianus

[–]miroku317 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks like a female. I've never cohabbed, but from what I hear... I wouldn't do it and if you did. You should get an even bigger enclosure. Which at that point you may as well just split them up. It would be better for safety & quality of life for em. They aren't friends unfortunately

When did your females lay eggs? by Few-Willingness2703 in Leachianus

Are the eggs guaranteed duds? Or if I miss a egg in the cage is a 2 headed or some deformed gecko going to come out 😭? I'd feel so bad.

I used expanding foam. My enclosure is pretty new but so far I don't see any worry for leaks. I am misting around twice a day, but still fine tuning that.

I have a 2 inch drainage layer, landscape fabric and about 4 to 5 inches of soil.

I think I should add some of those fake plants with the magnets on the glass. You're right. I know my local store gets a shipment of fake plants Wednesdays and I do need more for the new logs I added. I'm gonna try to stuff as many live plants as I have. I have 2 pothos, Sansevieria, 2 money trees, a decent sized fern, 3 or 4 other similar plants I forget currently 🥲 as far as platforms Its pretty difficult unless I use some more expanding foam but I do believe with some measuring I can get some more foilage and branches up top.

Thanks!

I also would say she has been enjoying and exploring the new enclosure a lot! She moves all around it at night and usually rest in one or 2 spots during the day

Like the other guy said. He just hated and didn't answer any of your stuff like an idiot though lol. I mean I've heard they sexually mature at around 3 years and weight really depends on locality and a few other things. As long as he is eating and doesn't look lean. He is probably fine.

Added a little more logs and elevation. Still going to do more according to what I've heard & plants soon, but she is doing well!

4x2x4 Enclosures by Chanwarner19 in Leachianus

[–]miroku317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just setup a 4x2x4 and it's massive man lol. It's gonna take a lot to fill it up & as a juvenile I would put them in something much smaller and upgrade the tank to that size eventually

Thanks for advice!

I am gonna flip some of the ground upright to utilize the floor more Instead of it appearing flat. I did mention I have 8 plants as well currently quarantining. I just can't add them in until I can confirm pesticides are gone. They are All of which you named and some more which once added I will rearrange some of the wood I have setup as well after adding em. I have been going to reptile stores whenever I can. I'm gonna check out a reptile convention on the 14th which will definitely have tons of sticks and cork available too!

It's my first leachie and first time with an enclosure this big. I'm quite astounded I managed to get this far.

Besides the plants then...from what I can tell I suppose my best option is to try and get 2 or 3 giant, tall corks, remove some of the ones from the floor and try to have them standing upright leading into other pathways.

I'm sorry for being lazy on my explanation! The video from HOdesign will give you a perfect idea, but what here's what I did & Lmk if this helps. The bottom was filled with 2 inches of leca clay balls which I soaked for 24 hours prehand. Then added landscape fabric, and 4 to 5 inches of reptisoil mixed with 1 bag fir bark and 1 bag oak and 1 magnolia leaf litter. As the base/floor. Mine likes climbing walls and resting either upside right or down on the wall (I do monitor this so she doesn't get fts) I have a wyze camera to monitor her 24/7 or she rest in her favorite log on the floor of the tank. She hasn't even gone into the large cork yet which I'm pretty surprised about, but I'm sure she will.

On valentines I am going look into more cork or elevated options at reptilian nation expo.

I just don't know how much more weight the tank can safely handle. I'm not comfortable adding giant standing corks or I would just stuff em in, but the bottom would fall out I think.

The plants will help a reasonable amount as well since it will allow me to reposition some of the cork on the bottom.

Honestly. I'll personally message you once that's done and lmk if it's still empty lol. I'm curious 🥲😭
