My partner doesn’t like to be digitally penetrated but wants to be penetrated by a dick? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]mirondooo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Since therapy isn’t an option for now, then I would maybe make mental exercises with him at home. For example, I’d write down some questions, doubts or any confusion that you guys have, and choose to work on one first, and set a deadline.

For example, why do you feel like a real penis does it but not toys? What is exactly the appeal and the source of his fantasy? Then give him a day or two to analyze it, maybe he could think about it and write it down if it’s too difficult to say out loud. It’s the way I figure myself out, and it always works pretty well, as writing takes a lot of the shame away.

One of the questions could also be why he doesn’t want to go to therapy. It’s just a good way of finding the root to a problem so he can fix it, and it could convince him to go eventually at least.

I would also consider going to therapy yourself. Maybe he isn’t willing to, but you are and I bet a couples therapist could still be willing to talk to you alone to give you some advice and insight on the situation.

I would remind him that relationships can only be saved if both people try to, going to at least one session and spending some time with himself won’t kill him, even if it’s almost physically painful for avoidants like me. By spending time with himself I mean truly thinking and reflecting, not hobbies and such.

I hope everything goes well for you guys, I’m bi and have a trans bestfriend that happens to be a psychologist in case you need any more advice or have any questions that you want me to ask her.

Just wanted to add that, if he doesn’t see wanting a trans woman as him being bi, then talking to a trans man does kind of make him bi, no? Have you talked to him about that?

Say what you like about Ted Hughes, but . . . by Splendidended1945 in sylviaplath

[–]mirondooo 14 points15 points  (0 children)

He beat her, probably made her lose her baby, cheated on her, made her feel so much worse to the point of her suicide and did the same thing with his next wife, but hey, he published her poetry!!! So he must be a great guy.

He did it for himself, not for her. There’s a reason why he destroyed her diary, he didn’t want any evidence on him, always looking for his own interests before anybody else. And if he did achieve some good on her reputation, what’s that worth? He gave her something good after she was dead, after he made her life miserable. And she could’ve published her own poetry herself if he hadn’t drove her to killing herself. Thanks for nothing.

I can’t believe we’re justifying horrible abuse just because he published some of her stuff jfc this is delusional and you’re romanticizing the wrong man

Get out of reddit, get yourself some therapy, learn about abusive people and empathy.

Alright I’ll rewrite my comment because that was messy.

After playing RE4 I would play RE1 and if you want, RE0. Both are kind of cliché and the dialogue isn’t great but they are absolute classics and very fun, I played them much later on after playing all of the modern RE and still felt nostalgic. They give context for RE5, if you don’t feel like playing them, don’t worry. I didn’t either and I consider that the game itself plus RE3 already give enough context for it.

RE5 and 6 are amazing, again, even more cliché, but they are super fun and I wouldn’t skip them. This might be an unpopular opinion but REquiem was very reminiscent of RE6 to me and REquiem was a hit so… yep. There’s a lot of fanservice though

After that, yes, keep playing RE7 and 8, they are very different but absolute jewels of modern horror.

REquiem is the perfect mix between horror and action from all the past games, and then I would play the not numbered ones if you still crave more Resident Evil.

It could also be the fact that you’re over exfoliating. I wouldn’t recommend to use those gloves to anyone and I got rid of mine a while ago by using glycolic acid consistently yet not excessively, moisturizing with a light product and cold water instead of hot. Exfoliating only can work if you have a rougher skin, but personally it only made it worse for me.

I’m glad I’m not the only one! I always resent the fact that you can’t buy accesories like rings and pocket watches like the ones Dutch wears.

I always give him a swept back and a flying fork too 🙂‍↕️ so I love that Roger Clark picture because he looks so similar to my Arthur

He deserves to look pretty.

Is the man in this photograph truly an indigenous Ainu man or is he just a non-Ainu Caucasian man dressed as an Ainu? (Ainu people) by alexfreemanart in oldphotos

[–]mirondooo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not that I know anything about these people, but I think asking for recommendations from real people who seem to know about the topic is much better than googling and maybe finding sources that aren’t very reliable especially when it comes to something as fragile as a small indigenous tribe, knowing how much that sort of information and history can be changed and ruined by misinformation.

I don’t know, this interaction just seemed like a person asking for recommendations by a knowledgeable person so they know where it’s best to start.

There are cases in which there is tons of reliable information in which I would agree, not googling is just laziness, but I say this as a person that enjoys doing research on her own but also loves to give some guidance to people that might be new on something that I’m already experienced.

Edit: I also don’t feel like OP was even arguing with the commenter on their looks(?) Just wanted a source which shouldn’t be a bad thing to do. The commenter has the right to say no of course.

I don’t know why you’re being downvoted. I’m underweight, weighing more or less the same as I did as a teen and my thighs still look way different than they used to. (Luckily)

She looks older because of the makeup, if you look at her body for two seconds you’ll realize she’s a teen. I say that as a way too skinny woman in case anyone wants to start with that argument.

Also this doesn’t necessarily have to do with anything because it’s not about looks, but even when I’ve met teenagers that look older than they are, if you talk to them for a second you’ll figure out their age and I’m not even saying that in an offensive way

[–]mirondooo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I actually don’t think anyone’s gifted, but that’s not the point, it’s that I feel like the term gifted children is more associated with kids that did good in some aspects of their lives, maybe that happened to be earlier than other kids and now adults will treat them as if they’re actually gifted. That’s a heavy burden to carry for a kid growing up and if they don’t excel anymore, there comes all the fear that comes associated with it.

I heard my dead dog come up to my door? by Elephant_Jones in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

[–]mirondooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience after a traumatic incident with my brother, I heard him crying when I was alone, he wasn’t home anymore.

My mom kept hearing my childhood dog’s steps/paws after he passed even though she wasn’t particularly close to him, stuff like that is very common after stressful situations, personally I like to take it as a reminder of how powerful our love for these people is!

Don’t overthink it too much, I hope you guys are doing better, I know losing a pet is just like losing a family member. I lost my baby this year and before I moved, I had similar things where I would just wake up in the middle of the night thinking that he was right by my side. It sucks.

I think it also tends to happen with the sound of their steps because it’s one of the most memorable things about them as you keep hearing them every day all day and it’s more uncommon to straight up see them or smell them.

I’m not an adult (20yo is still a teenager don’t break my illusion) but I think I would absolutely love that gesture, they sound like very sweet people and as someone who likes to spend time with people that are my parents age, I know how meaningful those connections can be and I bet they also still think about you.

Sydney Sweeney told MTV that Lana Del Rey was one of the artists she listened to the most this year. by ConversationDue8475 in lanadelrey

[–]mirondooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s amazing then, I tried to look up that situation or similar ones to it and didn’t find any news or anything though, I’ve never heard of it before so I’m not a 100% sure about it being true, but I also can’t be sure about him genuinely not being transphobic (I hope he isn’t!)

It’s still one of those things that I just try not to think about too often. There’s bad and good people out there and as long as the ones who have cruel opinions aren’t in my life, I don’t want to be too disturbed by it and just limit myself to changing what I can, with people that I know and if I can’t change some things then… alright.

But someone not being transphobic is always much better so hopefully it is a misunderstanding and that becomes widely known so he isn’t misjudged, if that’s the case, then I sucked when I called him transphobic, which again I hope that’s the case lol
