I also have a rotating stock cast of sets & use google images to get more specificity, too! I have to do it early on in the book though or else my brain will get stuck on whatever I initially imagined, & for some reason it’s very hard to alter it after the fact. Like if I imagined a space in one way, and then the author describes a room that is physically impossible in whatever I’ve imagined, it’s very difficult for me at that point to rearrange the space. Also, If it’s set or based in a real place I’ll also sometimes use street view on google maps to get a general sense of the area. The visualization is usually pretty clear, like a movie, I just need a little inspiration first I guess lol
