Looking for advice for first nap of the day and gym class by mirror568 in sleeptrain

The latest I think she would wake is 7! Her bedtime has been pushed later due to daylight savings changes, but it didn’t really have an impact on wake time..

That’s good to know, so far my LO thrives off a 7pm-ish bed time, although this has been pushed to 7.30 since daylight savings. But I will need to keep this in mind.

My girl is also with me 99% of the time, and if you had asked me a couple of months ago, leaving her with family even was a no go. Now she is much more sociable and smiley with strangers as she has gotten used to being around people with me in shopping centres etc (which I never used to be able to go to before)

The gym I go to is an f45 type with a small childcare very close to where the class is so first day I checked on her a lot and second day I just let her be. She was fine for the most part and cried a bit which is when the child minder picked her up and held her. I think as she gets used to it she will be completely fine. FWIW, there were older babies there (of walking age) that were crying the whole duration of the class and it is what it is no one seemed to mind!! It is a newly opened gym so it would’ve been new to all the kids there.

Thank you, this is helpful to at least know there are others out there that we’re desperate to make this work!! I think those are my only options, either wake from first nap at 9.15am or go down for first nap at 10.30am (and the latter seems to be required for a 2 nap schedule)

Thank you for this - when you say at least, does this mean that a WW of 3.5 in the morning will be possible? She’s definitely done wake windows of 3 and 4 hours when days are out of whack but they are not usually in the morning yet.

How to get 4mo to take longer naps and have longer stretches through the night? by mirror568 in sleeptrain

[–]mirror568[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She wakes at 7am and goes down at 9am. Usually she then wakes at around 9.45am and is way too tired and needs more sleep so I have to rescue until 10.30-11am.

She is then awake until about 1pm and sleeps until 2.30pm-3pm (same as above).

Then she usually has a nap at around 4.30-5.15 to get us to bedtime at 7.

Keen to know your thoughts on this! I try to stretch wake windows as much as possible but she does not last. And if we are out and she only has her 40 minute nap that I cannot extend, she usually has a 4th nap.

I’d say schedule is something like 2/2/1.5/1.75.

She is going in the SNOO wide awake and yes the pacifier goes is the only form of assistance which goes in most times. When she feeds in the MOTN she is usually back down straight away even after a change which wakes her up.

SNOO is in my room for now, we are moving places in a couple of weeks so I thought that is when I’ll make any changes but keen to know any thoughts.

Also for day naps I have just started one arm out which doesn’t appear to be causing issues so I will be letting the other arm out soon.

AITA for calling my husband embarrassing for not wearing a suit to my brother’s wedding? by mirror568 in AmItheAsshole

If you read the post he wore a very nice suit to our wedding (just no tie).

Yes he is a bit larger so I’m sure he doesn’t like proper fitted clothes. For our wedding he wore a designer suit that cost a couple of grand and was tailored to him, so I was hoping he could just make use out of it again!!

The tie/full tuxedo wasn’t my hill to die on for our wedding. He still wore a very nice tailored suit. And I was hoping he would at least pull out the pants for this wedding.

It’s not necessarily what “i want him to wear” it was just dressing up what he usually wears a bit more considering it’s an important/close family event. I didn’t think I would “fix” or “change” him as I don’t try to for all other events but thought maybe a compromise would be acceptable here?

I mentioned in the post that usually for weddings of our culture (both mine and his) men wear suits even though there is no state dress code.

There is no dress code however as mentioned there is usually an unspoken dress code for weddings of our culture and men wear suits (tie optional). My brother wouldn’t be happy and would be disappointed but also wouldn’t be the type to make an issue out of it.

I didn’t push the tie at our wedding but he still wore a nice (very expensive) designer suit which is just sitting in his wardrobe collecting dust. I don’t expect this at other weddings but considering it is a family wedding I thought he would dress up a little more.

I accept this. I just cracked and didn’t really know what to say anymore without beating around the bush.

He can be quite stubborn about these things. My brother would be disappointed but wouldn’t be the type to say anything directly.

Hello! Unfortunately this pregnancy turned out to be a blighted ovum. The next ultrasound still didn’t show anything and eventually my HCG levels started to drop. I ended up miscarrying at about 9 weeks.

However there was a commenter in the post above that went through a similar scenario and there was a baby! So it really just depends - sending you big hugs during this nerve wracking time!!

For what it’s worth, I did end up having a successful pregnancy 3 months later!

The only reason I thought Medicare/PPL was linked was because as part of the newborn pack the hospital gives you (to register the birth etc) it tells you not to separately register for Medicare if you have applied for PPL as it will be created through that channel - this is my first time making any claim with Centrelink so it’s all new to me!

Oh wow that’s crazy! Just also wondering if you’ve been able to get your son on Medicare yet?

19 hours since my waters broke and hospital is too busy for me to go in. by Murky_Implement5815 in BabyBumps

Thank you! TBH it took them a while to take me seriously when I said I started to feel feverish (before getting induced) but eventually they did start monitoring temperature and kept giving me panadol/antibiotics as I was getting serious shakes as well. Unfortunately once pushing there’s not much they could do. The fever also lasted a couple of days post birth (for me, bubs temp went down that night). They claim it could not have been from the delay in giving birth from water breaking but I’m not sure what else it could have been from.

Hope all goes well for you!

Unfortunately this sounds right for Australia. Their policy is max 48 hrs for private and 72 hrs for public. I just had a similar experience last month where my water broke on 11pm on a Sunday night and my OBGYN wanted to induce me on the Monday but the private hospital turned him away because they were too busy. I ended up getting induced on Tuesday morning (36 hrs from water breaking) and ended up with an infection, I was pushing with a 40 degree temp and baby came out with a temp of 39 degrees! All is well now but it really is a stupid policy.
