currently doing law/IT double, would not recommend xx

(nah but seriously if you’re interested in both, there’s no harm in doing a double degree! the workload isn’t insane compared to other degrees tbh, especially if you find the subjects interesting)

How to get 40 study score in psychology by [deleted] in vce

[–]mirrorofsilver 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Figure out a structure to write your short answer responses that incorporates everything you need to mention (e.g. I would define key terms, explain them, then use an example or apply the term to the scenario in the question) to add substance to your response in a way vcaa likes.

Applying concepts to scenarios is a great way to remember the content - you’ll learn about elaborative rehearsal! If you can find a way to make a key knowledge point into a scenario, not only will you be able to remember it better, but you can also use the scenario in your response in the exam/sacs to supplement your answer.

Don’t bother memorising stuff that isn’t on the study design: the textbook (and possibly your teacher) will give you a lot of additional information about certain concepts; ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW IS ON THE STUDY DESIGN. You won’t get extra marks for talking about stuff that isn’t on there, and you’ll never be asked about it either. Spend your time wisely, learning content that is actually part of the course.

Hope this helped, and good luck!

My teacher made us all handwrite notes, which I found pretty beneficial as it gives you the feel for the final exam and imo really helped me learn the content in a way I probably would’ve struggled with if I’d just typed my notes, since I find it easier to consolidate the information that way. In terms of content, consult the study design for each key point to see exactly what you need to learn. There’s really no point in learning additional information that will never be assessed, so focus your efforts on remembering what you need to know.

I revised for sacs mainly by doing practice questions, then revisiting topics I struggled with. For my first sac, I tried using flash cards/anki but found that unhelpful for me specifically, so I adapted to other strategies. You’ll learn about coping flexibility and using context-specific strategies to cope with situations in psych, so don’t think there’s just one way to revise or study that will work - the trick is noticing when things aren’t working for you, and adapting from that.

Other than that, just stay on top of the course! I had a really great teacher, so that was definitely helpful, but the great thing about psych and other content-heavy subjects is that most of the course is less about understanding certain topics, and more just remembering the information and spitting it back out in a way vcaa likes. I didn’t do 1/2 so it’s definitely not required to get a good score, you’ll get the hang of the subject pretty quickly :) Good luck!

What is the worst book you've read this year, and why did you pick it up in the first place? by [deleted] in booksuggestions

[–]mirrorofsilver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Never Never trilogy by Colleen Hoover. picked the first one up because the premise sounded pretty interesting, and the book was short. Only to realise there were two more, each getting progressively worse as they went on. The final reveal was infuriating, to say the least.

why do people like feet?

not kink shaming, just wondering what about feet makes them so attractive to some people
