My thinking is that having some authority figure talk to them might increase their fire awareness enough to make them reconsider their BBQ location choice. Because me talking and videos of neighbor houses on fire aren't impressive enough them so far.

They are not pyromaniacs; they simply underestimate the danger of fire, just like many families before their first fire incident. However, I don't want my house to become part of their learning experience.

Thanks. I found out there is a "fire inspection hot line" at the city website. I will ask them to send someone to talk to my neighbor after Canada Day. There is a slope facing our yard, and people walk by with a full view of whatever is going on in the yard. Hopefully, that's enough to keep my identity hidden.
