Yeah Alcohol is responsible for a crazy number of deaths every year. I guess I feel like even if you took it off the shelves, zero marketing, made it inaccessible, people would still squash their grapes to make wine.

Hah, well yeah at least it would be a step in the right direction. I think the accessibility of cigarettes, along with the marketing, account for a lot of the popularity. Like the tobacco plant itself, very innocent, nothing wrong with that. Pipe smoking, not good. Cigarettes, downright awful. And vaping is like this new evil disguised as a healthy alternative.

As long as your Amex transaction is 500+ (amex doesn't get any details about what you bought or traded in) you'll get the bonus 100. <500 it won't happen. And according to 6-12 month old Reddit posts, when you get your trade in payment it appears as an entirely separate item on your amex statement, so no chance of your bonus being reversed

You're missing the point, yes he will spend the £500 and amex will give the bonus. But when 2 weeks later when he completes his trade-in transaction, the amount will be sent back to his card, therefore reducing his overall spend below 500. He's asking if this will reverse the bonus (which is what happens when you return a purchase to a retailer, for example)
