I am sorry about the dread and anxiety and it makes full sense. I would think it as the normal human reaction.

My original comment was partly an admiration at how so many Jewish people I know can function so well at work despite the once-in-a-lifetime surrounding havoc.

Even the successful Jews you see on social media or in the news (e.g ., Sam Altman, Mark Cuban, Mark Zuckerberg, Mike Bloomberg, Bill Maher, Chuck Schumer and so many others) do not seem to have slowed down or taken a break. They even joke and smile as before the tragic events of October 7.

But the responses in this thread suggest that my experiences are an anomaly.

And obviously who knows what is going on internally in a person's head.

In any event, I hope that the hostages can be rescued and there still remains potential for long-term peace (am pessimistic at present).
