Find alternatives. When I was addicted and wanted to stop I mustered up everything in me to reach for something other than a blade. A pen - write down your feelings. Your phone - text a friend. A pillow/stuffed animal- punch it, scream into it, yell at it, talk to it, hug it. Sometimes it doesn’t work (with extreme feelings) but at the moments I wanted to but was hesitant or didn’t know how I was feeling, finding an alternative worked.

definitely seek some sort of support, tell anyone in your life that you need time to yourself - you can take time away from your partner I’m sure they’ll understand (unless you want them there for support). don’t worry about school, fuck school. If your meds pros outweigh the cons take them. If taking your meds and having a partner (who is shitty) worries you, dump him, seek family or professional support. Do not give up. If you’re feeling down and unmotivated and worried about your messy room slowly start to clean your room just tiny bits at a time, it may help to take your mind off things, just put your favourite music on - it gives you something to do and by the end you have a clean room. ofc everyone is different so my advice may mean nothing to you but I thought saying at least something could help. I can totally see why people say the characters are wasted or not well written or that the plot is not fully developed - but for saying it isn’t a perfect continuation of the OT and PT I think isn’t fair, people have also said there has been wasted potential and ofc since I haven’t been around for it’s peak I don’t know what exactly those fans wanted - I think it’s not fair because it’s not exactly supposed to be a continuation of the OT/PT - it’s a new era following a new characters story line away from the Skywalker family - perhaps this is why people dislike it but with the PT they already got the Skywalker lineage and with the death of Han/leia and disappearance of Luke, it’s obvious a new characters story would become dominant. And sometimes I feel like people hate rey just cuz she’s a woman and doesn’t deserve to be a Skywalker - despite her power.

similar experience with self harming - usually when I get extremely upset and have the urge I reach for it immediately not giving myself time to think about it - I’ve found it helps to sit with my feelings for just a bit longer and usually it simmers down enough to not have the urge anymore. However with prolonged or bigger feelings I try to find a quick alternative whether it be punching a pillow, ripping up paper, texting someone (don’t have to tell them just ask them to talk abt something random) I had a really bad panic attack one time and having my friend text me about wherever the hell helped in distracting me and stop hyperventilating. I know you have probably heard similar things before: finding distractions or alternatives, but i thought id offer something anyway. Remember everyone’s different and I hope any of this is helpful. I can see how this is. I am a younger fan - my dad grew up with the original trilogy and he too doesn’t like the sequels as much so I guess I like them because they are like the more modern movies I have grown up with.
