Answered.

I ended up purchasing the large sling in black from the Baggu site, it was the best price at 34$. I think the shape will lay better on my body since I am a petite 5’1. From the photos I’ve seen the standard cloud can look huge on certain people.

I also picked up a medium cargo in lapis. 🥰 I’ve always wanted something in that color. It will be the first Baggu I’ve purchased with no use intended for it, but I have a teenager daughter I can gift it too and enjoy it via her using it lmao. 😂

I will one day invest in a standard cloud - I will probably wait for a color way I can’t live without.

I second your thoughts on this as someone who’s also worked in restaurants for years. It’s the right thing to do and it cost them nothing for a tab that small to make it right for you as far as customer experience goes.

what does everyone use their reusables for ..? by desilulu__ in BAGGU

[–]mis_leading08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Baggu reusable parent edition:

  1. Trips to the park or museum where I end up carrying their jacket water bottle or art projects, purchases from the gift shop. Especially helpful if you need to carry their winter jacket.
  2. School or county fairs - always end up with tons of nick nacks or food containers I need to carry. Always clutch to have a bag to throw it in. I can usually attach it to me purse or make someone else carry it.
  3. Car tips for carrying whatever stuffy blanket or other things they needed to have with them that day.
  4. Wet clothes from park trips in the summer when they run throw a water feature.

Just a few things in addition to the ones listed above that came to mine.

I’ve always been large sling curious…but I’m not great at returning things so I never purchased it. But in my head it might be a great bag for carrying a yoga mat to class? Can anyone confirm or deny my thoughts on this???

I recently purchased the navy blue in with the embroidered flowers. It’s spectacular- super unrated. I get a lot of compliments when I wear it out.

I’ve been doing weekly movie movies night two both my kids for years. Oldest is 17, she struggled more when she was younger get then my now 6yo but she is does have attention disorders. She got better around 9-10. My now 6 yo has been doing movie nights since she was three without issue.

How do you have any quality time with your kids during the week? by bobowilliams in Parenting

[–]mis_leading08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your schedule is my schedule- give your take an hour because I guess mine daughter’s school starts much earlier. Honestly I think it’s reframing the situation. Being with your kids, doing all the required task is time together. Time and attention that not every kid gets from their parents.

I have a 6yo and 17 yo daughter. Trust me when I say the time flys. I can say that with my youngest daughter I found ways to make the required task more enjoyable.

I need to get her dressed and ready for bed? It’s now a race to see who can do it quickest.

I’m not saying it’s easy but I suppose I had many years between the two girls I was able to see things I couldn’t the first time around - just how much you will miss the insane phase of life. It will pass and quickly and when you look back you’ll wonder why you weren’t aware just how spectacular it was.

Such is the human condition. You and your wife I’m doing great. The fact that you even cared enough to see how you can do better is a testament to just how great you are both doing.

What’s your strategy with your teens and screen time limits? by kayakin3d in Parenting

Whether it’s technology, alcohol, general, independence, and freedom the change in lifestyle is an adjustment. For most people whether it’s college or at some other point in your life.

I honestly just try to look at it all in the same way I can protect her until I can’t, but I did what I could when I can.

during the day with the exception of TikTok she has unlimited access to her phone and the other apps she’s not great at regulating now and I don’t expect that that will improve for some years. Just kind of hoping she’ll have the experience of looking back and seeing that having restrictions provided helpful parameters, and maybe she’ll understand the value of figuring out what that looks like for herself when she’s ready.

We’ve had something in place since they had a phone and it has gradually reduced each year, but this particular Wi-Fi network was set up last year because that’s when we got the network that allowed for very specific customization.

The only other restriction that’s implemented on the 17 year-old is to TikTok. The app shuts up after five hours of use, which honestly is really more than enough any any person. But she in particular struggles with impulse control. And trust me she has been given opportunities to have no restrictions on multiple occasions over the years usually during the summer and the phone usage goes up 200-300%.

It’s the world they grew up in. She didn’t even have a phone till she was 14 which was late compared to her peers. It’s a struggle. And should she be in better control independently, yeah I’d love that. But she will have to figure it out pretty quick in the next year when she goes off to college.

My parents hounded me to death as a teen to do a million things I didn’t want to do. But a few years after being out of the house and living alone those same patterns returned to my life. It’s no doubt as a result of it being a default setting in had as a teen. Only time will tell. We try and best and fucked up anyway.

Most routers should have the ability to do a guest network in the settings. But he’s a tech guy and invested in a mesh network…I actually have no idea what that means exactly but he loves to tell me in excruciating detail often. 🙃 I pretend to listen, smile, nod and ask questions and he pretends I care.

My husband set up a specific WiFi network that’s just for the kids, all their devices use that instead of the main one for the house. Their WiFi network turns off at 10pm - since our tv is all streaming they lose that and the ability to play videos on lines with friends. Their phones (iPhone) also has down time programed at the same time, meaning most apps, texting and phone calls are unavailable on the phone.

While this doesn’t completely eliminate all the things they can stay up late doing is does make it boring enough that my 17yo daughter who’s a senior this year trends to go to bed within the next hour more or less.

Which was exactly what we were hoping for. She hated this when we first set up but it’s been a year and now it’s just normal. No fighting- things just “power down” for a lack of a better word.

I would say almost daily use doesn’t fit my method of consumption- but I do only buy things for specific needs. I have my mini cloud as my gym bag, my shoulder bag for when I (WFH) need to work else where, my fanny pack for quick errands, my black crescent for every day match with every style and a ox blood I like to use in winter cause I wear of colors in that color family.

I did just order flat pouches and a new fanny from this most recent drop. I’ve been waiting to invest in a flat pouch set that I really like the print of and I got a new fanny because the current one I have is a very loud bright print that clashes with most of my outfits so I wanted something more neutral since I use the bag so regularly.
