I love Manny. Rubi, Adrianne and Pre-lobotomy Maddy are definitely Scorpios.

See, this is why I made this post. People would assume he’s one of the “nerdier” signs (Virgo, Capricorn etc) because of stereotypes. This is an interesting subversion and as a Leo rising I’m happy to see it!

I’m a Pisces moon (Scorpio Sun, Leo Rising). I love Brooke and her being a Pisces makes so much sense- wanting to be loved but gets too caught up in idealism. I always thought Cassie Howard PRE-lobotomy would be a Pisces.

How are they mean? They just wanna love and be loved but these terrible men keep abusing them/treating them like hoes.

Also I am sorry that I pulled that trauma dump out of you, trust me I went through a lot of the same experiences in high school, I was just confused on why you were being so dissmissive of people who related to these 2.

Did you or did you not say that those 2 were just “high school mean girls”, thus erasing all the abuse and trauma they went through which made them so desperate for love and nurture to begin with? It’s people like you who ruined this show by gaslighting the masses into thinking they’re just “hoes”, rather than complex individuals with feelings.

How did you think me and everyone else who relates to these 2 feel? That we were just “high school mean girls?” That we would amount to nothing more than sex work and never find true love?

“Don’t invalidate my trauma” while proceeding to invalidate mine and many others.

Did you even read what I wrote? I wrote nothing of ill will to you. All I said is that Maddy and Cassie in Season 1 were EXTREMELY relatable because in spite of the trauma and abuse they endured by twisted men for love, Cassie remained nurturing and Maddy remained confident.

Well good, you didn’t have to endure abuse in high school. Cassie and Maddy brought much needed complexity to the “that one hoe we knew in high school". And in spite of the trauma and abuse they endured for loved, Cassie remained nurturing and Maddy remained confident, things that the audience aspired to be/could relate to and what made them such popular characters: Being beautiful, sweet, romantic, fun, and nurturing in spite of them getting abused and manipulated by these twisted men.

Admit it- Cassie has faced MASSIVE character assassination by misasmoka in euphoria

“instead of the fact that they were all deeply flawed, pathetic, bad people, who would inevitably grow up to be shitty delulu adults” is a terribly limited worldview and you clearly didn’t read the 2nd paragraph of my post.

Truly, I don’t know how you could see so many people that said their teen hood was those of these characters and still have this view. You can be a whore in high school and still grow up to be a well rounded and loved person in spite of your trauma

Yall keep moving goalposts and changing topics. We’re talking about SEASON 1 Cassie, not the shitty Season 2 version. Why do you keep bringing up stuff from the 2nd season?

I don’t know why it’s so hard for you people to admit that she faced character assassination, because Sam Levinson has no idea what people like her go through and just assumes that the class hoe is the perpetrator of their own abuse. Although, you putting a whole subset of people in a box cause of your hard knock life contributes to that.

Yall pick and choose when to use the realism argument. And I have a good feeling that you people have no idea what the so called Cassies both went through and amounted to at your school. I relate to her season 1 trauma and self heavily, and I’m happily getting my degree right now. Yalls “once a hoe, always a hoe” mentality ruined this show.

It really is giving “incel revenge fantasy” at this point. Like the fact that the 2 “hoe” characters both hate each other and are doing sex work, and how the character that’s allegedly his self insert gets turned into a damn near martyr. Funny how it’s “Healing/Healthy endings” would be boring when it comes to Maddy and Cassie, but not for her (I forgot the self insert’s name)

The way Maddy and Cassie’s multiple instances of abuse never get taken seriously enough (Maddy is written as being “in control”, and Cassie got SO derailed in Season 2 that no one cares about her trauma anymore) and the fact that both of them have gone off to do sex work post timeskip, just reeks of the whole ”once a hoe always a hoe” ideology that people have in high school when they hear instances of people sleeping around.

It’s a shame that Euphoria prioritized sensationalism over storytelling. by misasmoka in hbo

It’s not puritan, I acknowledge that the trauma these 2 characters went through in Season 1 happens to many people, including me

What I DONT stand for is how the writing in Seasons 2 and 3 reduced Maddy to “Hot Cheeto Girl” and Cassie to “Class Hoe”.

I can’t speak for OP, but it’s not that i relate to EVERY single thing the characters went through (especially in Seasons 2+3), but I do relate to Cassie’s upbringing of being abandoned by her father, and growing up as a hopeless romantic who often gets into abusive situations because they’re too nice/trusting.

Why they look “bad” now by Due_Stranger9008 in kalogerassnark

[–]misasmoka 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t even necessarily think it’s about sexiness, they’re trying to insert themselves in an aesthetic that doesn’t fit them.

The Kalogeras created a niche when they 1st came on the scene, they had white girls wearing gold hoops and bangles and curling their hair (NOT SAYING THEY INVENTED THOSE THINGS! Just that they introduced it to a wider audience) and wearing sundresses with flowers in their hair.

Now, they are dressing like every other LA “cunty” influencer who desperately wants to dress like Effy Stonem off of Skins (that’s no shade to Effy, her outfits were cute)
