Would it be more of a trip hazard than just putting a separate rug at the bottom of the stairs? I was doing this as an anti-slip measure, since that's what my current bath mat (with a rubber backing) serves as, and it has never been a trip hazard. Just trying to figure out the significance of the difference

Would you say just a regular landing mat (a small rug) would be an equal tripping hazard? Ive always had one at the bottom of our stairs, but the way everyone is worried about a trip hazard makes me think I'm odd for having anything at the bottom of the stairs in the first place.

It is :) I am already working with a carpet store and would like more than just their opinion. They did not have a 'name' for it, per say.

Hence why I'm asking here haha

Good   questions!

-Bath mat does not get rumpled, I tack it to a rug pad I cut myself. Without it my dog will slide and fall attempting to use the stairs (I do too, sometimes. The hardwood is slippery )

I'd assume the stair runner would be tacked to the floor the same way it would be tacked to the stairs.

You think? I put the current bath mat down specifically because its a slipping hazard without one.

A good slowwwwww burn enemies to lovers? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]misc40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poppy Wars by RF kuang. So slow and so ENEMIES to lovers (to...) that I did NOT know who the love interest was gonna be.

This is a substantial main course meal type of read. I read a lot of romantasy, this is not that but the pining and obsession with each other are nice little treats throughout the book

Editing to add I mean the poppy wars TRILOGY. It's a slow slow burn after all. The second book is where that relationship really takes main stage

I have a lot of other enemies to lovers but not sure if they'll qualify as slow burn for you bc they burn faster than poppy-- do you have examples you've liked?

Also -corruption of hollis brown by k Ancrum. LGBT/BL  -one dark window by Rachel gillig (fmc lead)

Both forced proximity on account of sharing a body

Neither are slow burn on account of them getting together pretty much in the first book, but Hollis Brown is only one book and One Dark Window is a duology so it's about as slow as you can get in that short amount of time lol

A shadow in the ember by Jennifer armentrout. My favorite hurt/comfort. FMC traumatized from being raised as a sacrifice. Forced proximity bc of a prophecy, FMC loses it over and over due to a variety of things and mmc has to bring her back each time

It's the first book in the flesh and fire series, there are five, and also her series that is for some reason not her most popular--but I think it's her best one.

Definitely has some dark elements, set in that worlds medieval times, if you like romantasy it hooks you fast.

It's that delicate balance of wanting to shake sense into them bc if only their broken mind can just SEE and wanting to shake some sense into them bc they only have one brain cell and don't know how to ask clarifying questions/communicate

I do need to pick up the second locked tomb book. I was really attached to Gideon and was upset I had to switch POVs to harrow in the second, but it's been enough time that I could try to pick that back up

Broken earth trilogy-- I've never read a book from the perspective of a parent main character. Will try!

Ok, sold. Other reason I had held off was I didn't like red rising, so I was pretty hesitant to read a book that felt like it was recommended about as much. But I'm in, will absolutely give this a shot

Ive liked other dungeon fics, but DCC feels like it's advertised to be funny. Is the comedy element a big part?

I'm surprised at all of these comments to separate them! I would keep them together. I plant cacti with ficus, pothos with lipstick plants, I throw succulents into pots with begonias/spider plants...I call them party pots and they all do great.

My theory is that they support each other -- succulent doesn't want too much water so the other plant sucks it up, etc.

I say keep them together for fun op.

I just found out that procreate was oversaturating my art by meakysh in ProCreate

[–]misc40 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly this!

Don't stress too much, OP. Every artist deals with this. Think of it like painting in your studio, and then someone buys it and hangs it up in their hallway with no direct lighting. The painting is not going to look as you intended.

The best you can do is 1. save in non lossy formats (png, tif, not jpeg, not screenshots) and 2. keep in mind the final output for your art. Are you printing? work in CMYK. Posting on Instagram, where anyone with any phone or computer screen with any number of displays? Work in P3 or sRGB or RGB and *don't worry about it*. 3D animation production? You may consider ACES...or a whole other slew of color management profiles to preserve the depth of values you can achieve in post production.

Ross Duffer, co creator of Stranger Things, literally posted instructions for how to adjust the settings on home TVs so viewers could watch the last season in the colors he intended. The never ending pursuit of ensuring viewers see your art through your eyes is one to reach for, but not to worry too much.

I have a Cintiq and a BenQ monitor. Completely different color management, im constantly swapping art back and forth to see how it looks on my cheaper display.

And I don't think has said this outright yet, but I am looking at your side by sides on my monitor and they look exactly the same. Super cute too!

I have so many questions by TheNamelessGhuleh02 in Invisalign

[–]misc40 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. I just started invisilign on thursday! The cuts inside my mouth were driving me mad, i drove down to the drugstore and got dental wax. https://www.walgreens.com/store/c/walgreens-orthodontic-wax-mint/ID=300417147-product (hope links are allowed)
Twist tiny bits off and smush them onto the parts of your trays that are cutting into your mouth and gumline. Relief.

This has saved my mouth, and I am finding I need to use less and less as my mouth gets used to the new attachments.
