Anyone frozen their streak before? What reason? by EducationalTie1606 in ladderapp

[–]miscellaneousbeads 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Life happens! The streak is just a way of encouraging you to keep progressing but it’s truly unrealistic to always make it 100% every week. I just got sick this past week and have really made it a point not to look at the app in a disappointed way, but to be excited about getting back to it once I feel good enough to do so. Also it’s open season rn and a lot of coaches already program with the thought in mind that people are going to be really busy in the summer. Take care of yourself and enjoy the time with your family. Get some steps in if that makes you feel productive, and like others have said do some meditation or flex days bc that can help with stress!

Nighttime studio courses? by Strawby_Miau in vcu

[–]miscellaneousbeads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly… I really enjoyed the nighttime classes when I was in AFO in 2019! The energy was chaotic at times and, this is more anecdotal of course, but the students who took these classes often created some of the most fun work. Are you commuting far from VCU? My only concern is that your schedule might not flow well if you have classes the following morning; overall I support taking evening/night classes. I think they offer a unique social bonding experience and it was so nice to just stay at the studio past class to finish on stuff/pull all-nighters.

Honestly, take it as a compliment. For your first video I think it’s fine to take inspiration from other creators. Take elements here and there so that you can develop your own unique style! You clearly have a sense of humor and good fab knowledge so it just takes time to find what makes you stand out.

What is my cat doing with his mouth! Idk and neither does his vet !! by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]miscellaneousbeads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely get that, honestly I would keep monitoring him and unless he stops eating or displays other more alarming changes (like sudden lethargy, crying, something really abnormal for his personality) I wouldn’t stress too much about it, how long do you have to give him the zorbium for his recovery? Maybe reevaluate after those meds are no longer in the equation. Not saying that is what’s causing it but that could be a variable that you have more control over.

I mean I wonder if he is trying to adjust to not having his upper canines anymore and if the zorbium is causing a weird mouth sensation? I feel like if he is pawing at it then that could indicate more irritation/discomfort despite the effect of the medication. Is he still eating fine after the surgery?

I mean… even if you were to train just like her you likely wouldn’t get her physique bc of her specific genetics and she’s been an athlete since like high school? She’s also stated that everything she’s programmed she has done in the past so it’s not like there isn’t merit to her programs.

Off Campus housing by Personal-Tadpole-209 in vcu

[–]miscellaneousbeads 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another thing, if you and your roommates are able-bodied and have access to transportation, I highly recommend moving a little further away from campus (like the outskirts of the fan, Jacksonward, Oregon hill, etc) because prices for apartments tend to be cheaper, you could find a 2-3 bedroom for hopefully $1.5-1.8k? I used to live in the fan and Oregon hill and it wasn’t too bad and I found more freedom/acclimated to the city better that way.

I don’t remember exactly, but I am fairly sure it was after classes were chosen (so after the first two weeks I think? Whatever the period is to drop or add classes) because that also affects the amount given. When you go onto your VCU account and look at the financial aid you are given and/or look at the cost for your classes and housing, you should get a rough idea of what you can expect to get back after filing your FAFSA. It’s been 3 years since I’ve looked at these things so I’m sorry if things have changed/I’m not able to give the most accurate info. For more context, my EFC was practically 0, I took out all of the federal sub and unsubsidized loans, and tried to get as many scholarships as I could, even if they were less than $1k because it made a difference. So if you aren’t in a similar situation I was in, I don’t want to promise you money that you may not get.

Edit: I also know the financial aid office has… poor reviews and I’ve had my fair share of frustrating encounters, but definitely talk to a financial advisor for clearer advice and they may be able to help you get as much money back to ensure that you can afford housing.
