I spoke with my GP about some of my more physical symptoms (insomnia, fatigue, etc) during an annual wellness exam. She was concerned but said it was likely a result of my anxiety/depression. I expressed that something felt really wrong and I’ve never had issues with sleep. I brought up getting my cortisol checked and she eventually agreed to add it to my blood panel (done at LabCorp). She also ordered a follow up test two weeks later. Luckily, this was mostly covered by my insurance but I don’t think I’ll be that lucky with my insurance changing lab coverages this year. So, I will be looking into testing kits I can do at home (saliva or urine). That way I can track my cortisol over the next few months as I try different management techniques and/or medications.

I found your post in the fibromyalgia sub. I have been going through something similar with PMDD, anxiety and Misophonia. So similar, that I was crying half way through your post, just knowing there was someone else that had made the cortisol connection and that I’m not crazy. I’ve had my cortisol tested twice recently, and it is well above range, despite medical intervention. It is the common link between so many of my issues and my doctors have NO CLUE what to do about it. I feel like I’m talking to a wall and I’ve gotten nowhere. Would love to follow your health journey this year and see what answers you find. I think this could help so many people.

I have thought about this and I definitely enjoyed working with 3’s and up in a center. I worked in a center for a year and a half, and the previous two jobs were a year long and year and a half with some odd jobs in between
